Things you should know before visiting Machu Picchu:
✅ Book your tickets early enough:
In the high season from May – October, we recommend booking your tickets at least 2-3 months in advance if possible.
✅ The fastest way to get there is by train: Peru rail and Inca rail offer different train options
✅Take comfortable shoes
✅ Use the toilets before entering Machu Picchu: Once you go in, you cannot come out and re-enter.
✅ You can’t buy entrance tickets when you arrive at Machu Picchu. You can book them online or through a tour agency.
✅ Take water and snacks
✅ If you are lucky, you can get pictures with llamas for free.
✅ You can go in with or without a tour guide

✅ Physical Fitness: The hike to Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain is considered moderate and requires a certain level of physical fitness. The hike is approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) round trip and can take between 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.
✅ Tour Guide: Hiring a tour guide for your trip to Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain is not mandatory but recommended. A tour guide can provide you with important information about the hike, as well as the history and culture of the region.
