At over 11,000 ft I unzipped my tent. The crisp breeze made my bones rattle even though I had five layers of clothing on, and was cocooned inside my sleeping bag. Gazing at the stars I couldn’t help but think about how we're such insignificant beings on a random planet of a random galaxy. Removing my gloves with numb, trembling fingers I set up my camera on a tripod, and managed to take a picture before the last of my battery drained out in the cold.

Imagine this.
A sea of pine cones. Still quietness. The smell of burning firewood. A hot cup of black tea to warm your numb fingers. The local mountain dog that finds a companion in you. A painting-like sky that is your only source of light at night. The smell of dew on the grass when your eyes first open. The breeze of bone-chilling air that could not get purer even if you wanted it to.
A day without electricity, technology or gadgets.
Just you, and the world - the way it’s supposed to be.
Imagine this.

Complete feeling of bliss having almost reached the Kedarkantha Summit at 12,500 ft (3,800m), gazing down at the Himalayan ranges. Started the trek at 3:30 am in complete darkness with head torches, slipping on ice and snow. 🏔️❄️

Travel tip - buy that trekking pole. You'll need it!

The 17th of March of every year has been a day that involves excitement, nervousness, fear, reminiscing and a whole lot of laughter.
For eleven years we’ve managed (with quite a bit of struggle) to have a ‘sleepover’ whether it was by coercing our parents, faking being ill in high school, or travelling 3547 miles.
This year we’re lucky to be home, in Assam. Nostalgia kicks in as we snuggle into our childhood memories, and are eleven years older and wiser (at least we like to believe).

Growing up in Assam, I’ve always loved road trips because of how scenic the terrain can be. Paddy fields, mustard fields or tea gardens, the food enthusiast in me can’t help but jump out of the car and into the meadows! 🌾🎋🌱

The one reason I love to head out into the unknown is to satisfy the gastronome in me. I can’t wait to get my apron on, sharpen my knives and start ticking things off my bucket list.

A photographer, a foodie and an anthropologist in the making, I travel with family, friends, and as a female solo traveler. An adrenaline ju**ie, my travel experiences aren’t always the prettiest, but I can assure you that they’re ones you’ll remember forever.
