THE SING-OFF BATTLE:
CHRISTMAS CAROLLING COMPETITION

In celebration of the Kapawa Festival 2023.

MECHANICS AND CRITERIA:

1. ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to groups with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 members. The participants can include individuals from all age groups and backgrounds who are residents of Alamada, Cotabato. They must register and submit their entries to be eligible for the competition.

2. SONG SELECTION
Each group should prepare a Christmas carol or holiday-themed song of their choice. The chosen songs should be suitable for a family-friendly event and maintain the spirit of the holiday season.

3. HARMONY AND VOCALS
The groups will be evaluated based on their ability to harmonize and showcase strong vocals as a collective. Vocal blending, balance, and precision in harmonies will be important factors for scoring.

4. PERFORMANCE AND PRESENTATION
The groups are encouraged to demonstrate creativity and stage presence during their performance. Proper choreography, props, costumes, or creative arrangements can enhance the overall presentation.

5. PERFORMANCE DURATION
Each group will have a maximum performance time of 5 minutes. Exceeding the time limit may result in point deductions or disqualification.

6. JUDGING CRITERIA
The groups' performances will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
a. Harmony and Vocals: 35%
b. Interpretation and Expression: 25%
c. Stage Presence and Choreography: 20%
d. Musicality and Dynamics: 15%
e. Overall Impression: 5%
7. JUDGES
Competent and experienced judges with a background in music and vocal performance will preside over the competition. The judges' decisions will be final and binding.

8. CODE OF CONDUCT
The participants must exhibit appropriate behavior and attire during the competition. Respect for other participants, judges, and the audience is expected.

Registration forms and guidelines for the activities shall be available at the Office of the Municipal Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Municipal Building, Kitacubong, Alamada, Cotabato from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. only on first come, first served basis.

Other information shall be provided upon registration.

ALAMADA’S VOCAL CLASH:
THE CHRISTMAS KARAOKE CHALLENGE
AND SING-OFF BATTLE - SONG SOLO CONTEST

In celebration of the Kapawa Festival 2023.

MECHANICS AND CRITERIA:

1. COMPETITION FORMAT
Every Saturday during the duration of the Christmas Karaoke Challenge, one winner shall be chosen to compete as a contestant in the Sing-Off Battle, Song Solo Contest during the Culmination Program of the Kapawa Festival 2023.

2. ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to all interested residents of Alamada from any age group and background. The organizer will accommodate a maximum of ten (10) contenders every Saturday – November 18 & 25, 2023 until December 2, 9, & 16, 2023 for the Christmas Karaoke Challenge. The participants must register and submit their entries to be eligible for the competition on or before November 17, 2023 (Friday).

3. KARAOKE CHALLENGE SONG SELECTION
Participants can choose any song within the genre of their choice. The chosen song should be appropriate for a family-friendly event and in line with the holiday season. The song shall be selected on the list of KARAOKE MACHINE provided by the organizers.

4. SING-OFF BATTLE ACCOMPANIMENT
On December 23, 2023, during the Sing-Off Battle - Song Solo Contest, each participant will be accompanied by a live band provided by the organizers. One week before the Sing-Off Battle, the participants can submit their preferred instrument arrangements or rely on the default arrangements provided by the band.

5. Judging Criteria
The individual performances will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
a. Vocal Technique: 30%
b. Interpretation and Expression:25%
c. Musicality and Timing:20%
d. Engagement with the Audience: 15%
e. Overall Impression: 10%

6. JUDGES
Competent and experienced judges with a background in music and vocal performance will preside over the competition. The judges' decisions will be final and binding.

7. CODE OF CONDUCT
Participants must exhibit appropriate behavior and attire during the competition. Respect for other participants, judges' decisions, and the audience is expected.
