What’s your favorite beach in the world? This is one of mine, located in always sunny 😋
Tip: Don’t spend your time on the crowded main beach, walk to Heisler Park and descend the stairs; you’ll find tidepools and a bit more quiet 🌊

👋🏼
To say it’s been awhile is probably an understatement right 🥲 After moving to California I went back to school, moved to a new house, became pregnant & had a second baby!
We’ve been soaking in all the sunshine this state has to offer, and I spent my birthday yesterday swimming in this bay 🌊
Fun Fact: there were some baby leopard sharks swimming around my toes and I tried my best to keep my cool 🦈
🌵Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
We are coming up on our one year anniversary of living in California this week, and to mark the occasion I am adding to my list of Top Places in California 🌴
wowed us completely. Lesser known than nearby Joshua Tree, I would argue it’s just as beautiful, and there is SO much to explore. is an otherworldly overlook, and reminds me of what I think the landscape in would look like (if you can’t tell yet, I have a toddler who is into dinosaurs 🦖 🦕)
Have you ever visited the deserts of California? ☀️

Hoping one day soon we can travel to Australia again, until then this list of national parks will have to do :P
Check out my submission of Moreton Island, still my most favorite island in the world (ok, Maui is tied...), thanks to Steph for this collab!
✨ Glacier National Park Hidden Gem
For years Lake McDonald ruled Pinterest, with its photos of clear water and colorful rocks. What no one tells you is that there is also a nearby creek that is arguably more beautiful 🤩
SAVE for your next trip to Glacier & check out my post on Glacier Must-sees in my bio
McDonald Creek is just past Lake McDonald on the Going-to-The-Sun Road. You can see mini waterfalls and stop for some amazing scenery. I’ve only seen this color of water a handful of times in my life, and it always leaves me in awe 😍

Rekindling my appreciation for this app, now that I’ve turned my likes to “and others”, something about not seeing how many people the algorithm showed my posts to has really made me not care anymore 😛
I’ve also just discovered “saving” posts and have been saving away for future travel 🌎
What else am I missing? This app has changed so much in the last few years 😂

Updated a post about the best Canadian landscapes!
Feeling strange about Canada Day coming up this year. Canada will always be home, but celebrating a country that has so blatantly disrespected Indigenous culture is something hard to come to terms with this year, especially in light of the residential school graves of children found recently.
I have added in information about Victoria, BC but really it was first home to the Coast Salish peoples. Let's all learn the history of the land we live on, and sit with the mistakes of the past to prevent repeating them in the future.
👋
Hey everyone! It’s been awhile...almost 6 months in to our California adventure! We’ve spent our days and weekends exploring beaches, over-landing in deserts, getting to know our area and looking at houses. We have finally found a place to call home 🎉 Life is finally getting back to a new normal, and things are looking up from here. Next up? Have family and friends come for a (year and a half!!!!) long overdue visit ❤️

So excited to add a new Marine Reserve to this post!!! You all know I love the oceans, and one of my favorite parts of moving to SoCal this year is getting to tidepool all the time (and sharing it with Noel!) Check out all the ways you can help the ocean, Happy
Happy 🌍 Day
I’ve been lucky enough to have seen waterfalls that drop into the ocean, trees that make their roots in the unlikeliest spaces, glaciers that rise up out of seemingly nowhere, the most clear water there is, wild dolphins swimming alongside me, turtles and octopi and orcas and starfish and sea anemones, bears and moose and deer and elk. I’ve seen so much beauty across 10 countries
I’ve also seen the effects we have on the Earth. The dead coral reefs, the oil slicks on the water, the garbage that litters the beaches, the melted glaciers, the sick sea turtles and more plastic than I care to admit to
In the famous words of Sylvia Earle, one of my heroes and famed oceanographer “Many of us ask what can I, as one person, so, but history shows us that everything good and bad starts because somebody does something or does not do something”
So do your something today, and everyday, to preserve our Mother for the next generations 😘

What they say is true...absence makes the heart grow fonder!
Missing Washington & all the amazing hikes, so I decided to put together a list of my favorites. Washington is so vast so I asked for some help writing this post. Thanks ChelseyExplores, A Rambling Unicorn, The Wandering Queen, Jessica from Uprooted Traveler and Rebecca from r-noelle.com for sharing your amazing hikes!
There are so many beautiful hikes in Washington State- from the Cascades to the Olympic Peninsula and along Puget Sound!

It's been a long while! Adjusting to our new life in California and jumping back into my own personal development has taken up most of my time! Popping back in to share a collab I shared in, it was almost exactly 3 years ago (!!! time flies) that I was on this beach in Moreton Island. Missing Australia & traveling, but so thankful to live so close to the beach now :D

Who Is A Truthful Traveler?
Do you love to travel? It is rare I meet anyone these days who hasn’t ventured out into the world. With the invention of Pinterest and Instagram you can plan your own adventures easily, with a world of resources at your fingertips.
And that is how I found my passion for travel. I dreamed of Cinque Terre and Chichen Itza long before I ever saw them. I pinned to boards and saved photos showing me the world’s most beautiful places. It started small: planning camping trips, and graduated to putting together detailed itineraries for multi-state road trips.
When I finally got a chance to see my plans come to life, they hardly ever worked out as expected. Travel was beautiful, but far from perfect. It seemed to me that all the depictions I had seen in photos, on websites and in writing were misleading; showing all of the good and glossing over much of the bad.
My honeymoon was the spark that lit the flame. In between eating gelato, strolling the streets of Paris and discovering my roots in the UK, we managed to miss trains, overbook ourselves and make a whole lot of mistakes. On the plane ride home I jotted down my initial notes for what would become A Truthful Traveler. I would share my highs and my lows. The good, the bad, and the downright messy.
In the last few years I have shared stories from all around the world, and every single place I have been comes with lessons learned. I share these experiences not to discourage travel, or to discount the amazing experiences that come from it. My hope is that when you read my posts you can laugh, and relate to the fact that travel is real life. I hope that next time you travel one (or more!) of my tips can help you out. That your travel becomes better because of it!
