Don’t tend to do much Carp fishing anymore. The waters I used to fish, with named fish, known spots, the “going rigs”:.. Just wasn’t tickling my pickle… But working at has given me a renewed enthusiasm for a bit of Carp fishing. With the recent addition to Carp and Coarse fishing day tickets, I’ve been making the most of it with the odd mornings and afternoons having a go. I’ve managed to land a few so far, with this low 20 being the pick of em. From an 870 acre Reservoir, it’s probably the “best” carp I’ve caught to date. Let’s hope I can top that again soon. 🤙🏻🎣

Since I started working at Fishing at Hanningfield Reservoir just over a year ago, this was the one I really wanted to tick ✔️ off!! Being days only, it was always gonna be difficult, but never impossible. A day time Eel from an 870 acre water gives me a mad feeling of satisfaction! Weight is irrelevant really, but when it it’s 4lb , that’s a BIG Eel. Especially when you consider all the factors at play. With Hanningfield now selling dedicated coarse day tickets, I’m sure I won’t have this fishing to myself for long, but with all this water, I can share 😂

Good day yesterday with Started off in the fresh stuff looking for Chub or perch on topwaters. I managed this 42cm scarred up old bu**er, and a few obligatory jacks, but no Chub this time. Afternoon was meant to be all about bass fishing, but that was a non starter… So less said about that the better 😂 Video of the mornings fishing will likely be live later this week! 🤙🏻🎣

Happy June 16th to all the fisher-folk!! 🥳

I managed about 4 hours this morning (3-7am) before it was too bright and hot for my liking 😂 But a handful of topwater blow ups and landing this healthy fish certainly gave me the energy to carry on my day!!

I genuinely don’t know if there’s a more exhilarating way to fish freshwater in the Uk that topwater lures for Pike!! 🤯 All captured on video too and coming to my YouTube channel very soon!! 🤙🏻🎣

Lake Challenge 🥇CHAMPIONS🥇 !!! 🥳 Wow… What an incredible few days, at an amazing tournament on Rutland Water. HUGE shout out to my boat partner Andy Page who caught some unbelievable fish over the 3 days fishing (I’ll let him do his own post for his captures, so be sure to follow him to see that!). We went in with a game plan and stuck to it, both had moments when we needed the other to pull us back up and get our game heads back on and I think we worked very well as a team! Andy captaining us, and me coming in with a couple of clutch moments and tactical decisions to help along the way! A big mention has to also go to Thom Hunt and Kevin Cox who pushed us all the way to the finish line with some out of this world fishing themselves! The full score board will be published soon by the organisers Lake Challenge, I’m sure, and you’ll all be able to see the level of competition was probably unlike anything else seen in the UK lure comp scene….. I’ve got a bit of a “comp comedown” going on today 😂 …. But me and Andy are being reunited again tomorrow to film the next episode of the The Lure Fishing Podcast so make sure to tune in to that to hear the FULL story of this weekends endeavours. 🙌🏻

Wow… I’m just about recovering from an INCREDIBLE weekend for Fly Fest at 😮‍💨I managed to sneak out myself to fish yesterday, and after witnessing an incredible fish for , I then hooked in to my new PB fly caught Trout at 11lb 12oz!! 🥳 My first ever double! Taken on my Victory 9’6” #7, a Di5 and Cats Whisker B***y. Big shout out to the whole team I work with Hanningfield for pulling this weekend off and special shout out to for putting his neck on the line and deciding to push this event in to life!! Bring on ‘Fly Fest 2024’!!! 🙌🏻
