Decent day of fishing, caught a few trout and a few reds. Had my yak swirled by a 6 foot tiger shark. He was trying to get my red on the stringer. He was too slow. Lol

Sat 14 jan. Beautiful day to go for a paddle and fish. Hadn't been fishing in forever and didnt expect to catch much due to the full moon the night before. Sat in the mouth of a local creek with about 15 other folks fishing and waiting for the tide to come in.
I wanted to find the trout with some new vodoo shrimp but the wife likes to sit in one spot and sissy fish with bait.
We caught a few shorts my way and then went to a hole outside of the mouth of the creek where she fished her way. I paddled around throwing my favorite lures but still keep catching shorts.
She caught 2 nice slot reds on a ladyfish she had cut up and then was throwing cut mullet which yielded about six more reds in about an hour or so. When she caught the 21 inch trout on the mullet i figured i better go get up next to her and show her how to fish. She caught a few more reds and another 20 inch trout. I used some cut pins and caught two 22 inch yellow mouths. It started to slow down once the clouds rolled in so we packed it up and paddled out.
Didn't take pics of fish but it was sure beautiful out there.
Please feel free to send your pics and let us all know how you did or didnt. Hey, a bad day fishing is better than a good day working.

Went out sat sept 10th. Early morning to catch the incoming tide until about 8am. The fingerling mullet were in huge schools all over the bank. Caught 3 nice keeper trout on top water immediately. Redfish were chasing the mullet but ironically not my lures. After the reds stopped I corked some pin fish and went on to catch 4 or 5 more trout as the wind blew me back to shore. It was a great day.

Fishing report for June 11. Went out sort of early caught the outgoing tide. It was a little hot but beautiful wind was minimal and one point the water like a mirror. My wife likes to sissy fish and she hasn't gone in a while so she cast netted some mud minnows. We took them to an old fishing area we haven't been to in a while. free lined with just a hook and BAM, she caught 2 reds and a large trout within a few minutes. Of course, me being the better fisherman and tired of throwing the top water, had to scoot up next to her to show her how to to do it. We land numerous reds in that spot for about two hours before we were run off by sting rays. We both caught big ones, so big we had to pull the anchor and go for the ride. She ended up with a popped line and I broke a pole, aarrgghhhh. All in all it was a fantastic day.

Fishing report for June 4th. Haven't been out in a while. Hit the water early it was a beautiful day. Slight wind out of the NE. Throwing the top water caught a few reds in about 2-3 ft of water and a couple of nice trout. Using the Hedon bone colored spook until the grass came in with the tide. I poked around a little after that and then went home.

March 25th fishing report. Went out in a boat with my good friend Bill Carrier. Of course the weather was crazy wind changed directions at least 4 times but the temp was nice around 75. We used all kind of stuff but the corked tsunami glow shrimp was the winner. We only put 8 in the box but caught about 30 between the 2 of us. Most were juvi's and some were right at 15.5 inches. We lost about 3 good ones at the boat. I was surprised we did so well considering the full moon and wind storm the night before.

This is pretty amazing, start about the 3 minute mark. The water was so cold I couldn't believe they were even there.

Out on the 4th of feb. Cold, cold, cold. Temp in the mid 40s. Sun threatened to come out but never did, by midday clouds were low and thick. Caught 4 trout but the bite was terrible. Seems like I catch them better when it's sunny and there is no moon the night before.
Had 2 visitors fishing with me, I'll up load the video. Not sure what they were fishing for but knew I wouldnt catch anything with them around. Paddled back against a 8-10 mph wind with rain drizzle. I was frozen below the knees when I got back. Look for my vid.

Winter time action is hot. 31 jan nice day Temps in the 50 and 60 range with water freezing cold but sunny with a nice breeze. Using a mirror dine suspending twitch bait. Caught about 40 really nice trout in about 3 hours. Mostly at creek mouths in deep holes. If was an excellent day for paddling and fishing.

Fishing report for sat Dec 12. Whew, my hands have a blisters (literally) due to the 40+ trout reeled in sat. Using my favorite cold water lure a corked tsunami glow shrimp.
Paddled out about 2-3 miles on the low tide preparing for the bite. Wind was slight blowing me back to shore over the course of a few hours. Started catching in the dingy water and it was on for hours until I was about 500 yards from shore. I didn't try any other lure as the glow shrimp just kills em. I threw them all back today so no pics.
I did see a large 7 foot gray sand shark. Came right up to the kayak. The water was crystal clear he came within 3 feet of the yak it was beautiful, graceful and a little scary.

31 oct, wind out of the east/southeast. Full moon last night made fishing a little challenging. Use top water up close in the early morning with surprisingly no luck. It was so bad I think I got a hit. Move out a little with a corked glow shrimp. Caught a limit of trout on the outgoing tide.

Fishing Report for Saturday 6 Sept.
Caught 2 Reds and 4 Trout mostly on top water (amid the grass). One trout was caught on a Catch 2000. Caught more than a limit of sail cats (my limit is usually one or two). Used a glow shrimp under a cork. I wouldnt usually use this till it gets a little colder but I have been hearing scallopers saying they are seeing large shrimp so I thought Id give it a go.
