Bomburu Ella is located in the border of Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts. Exactly 15km from Welimada town.

If you travel from Nuwara Eliya town, you can take the Nuwaraeliya Welimada bus and get down from Welimada and then take the Bomburu Ella bus from Welimada bus stop. Rather you can take the straight bus to Bomburu Ella from Nuwaraeliya, but it’s not available often. It will take around 1 hour from Welimada to Bomburu ella. And then you have to walk around 2 km in the forest to reach the waterfall.

Bomburu ella is a very eye catching waterfall in Sri Lanka. And it is considered as the widest waterfall in the island.

The other significance is you can climb up to the top of the waterfall easily. In fact it is not a very difficult road.

Once we see a waterfall the other thing that straightaway comes to our mind is bathing . It is extremely advised not to bath in the top of the waterfall. But you can find some shallow areas on the way to the top. Please think twice when you jump into the water in Bomburu Ella due to its deep areas and slippery rocks.

Maligatenna Raja Maha is an ancient Cave temple which is located in Malwatuhiripitiya village, Gampaha District,Sri Lanka. The temple is located on the Gampaha - Wathurugama Road (205) and approximately 1.6 km (0.99 mi) away from the ancient temple Pilikuththuwa Raja Maha Vihara.

The history of Maligathenna Raja Maha Vihara is believed to be goes back to the time period of Anuradhapura Kingdom. According to Brahmi cave inscriptions found in Warana Raja Maha Vihara and Pilikutthuwa Raja Maha Vihara, those are temples located near to Maligatenna, it can be assumed that this vihara may also have been on abode of Buddhist monks.

The Girankiththa Adventure Eco Resort can be found in the heart of Kithulgala. Although the journey was a little bit hard, I believe it is worth the beautiful scenery.
We reached the Kithulgala town first and then we turned left to Malwaththa Road and continued for another 5km. We had to park our vehicle in a car park which I must admit was indeed very safe and secure. The hotel provides transportation from there onwards by a 4 by 4 vehicle since the road was a bit difficult.
As we approached the resort, we were served with a welcome drink and we enjoyed all three buffet meals including the BBQ for dinner.
The resort is built right beside a river with a breathtaking view and that was the first thing that I noticed there. We had a great time swimming and bathing for hours. Also we went on a river trekking along the river which was both fun and adventurous.
During our stay at Girankiththa Adventure Eco Resort we noticed that the staff including the manager (Mr.Jagath) was very friendly.
If you are looking for a place that is worth your time and money, this is the place to go.
Average price of full board package is around Rs.3000 (Bed for One Night, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
