🗽 E Pluribus Unum – The Statue of Liberty and Holland America Lines Exhibit at Ellis Island 🇺🇸
Hey there, fellow explorers! 🌍 We just had an unforgettable day trip diving into the rich history of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, two iconic symbols of America's proud heritage. Join us as we share some highlights of this remarkable journey!✨
Starting at Pier 40, we traveled through picturesque Liberty State Park and paid our respects at the moving 9/11 Memorial "Empty Sky" before boarding the Statue City Cruises ferry to Ellis Island 🚢. As we approached, we were greeted by breathtaking vistas of the city skyline, including midtown NY and NJ 🌆.
At the Ellis Island Museum, we were captivated by the personal accounts of resilient immigrants who shaped America's culture and economy. The suitcase wall exhibit and the Great Hall, where immigrants were once processed, offered glimpses into their incredible journeys 🧳📜.
Next, we marveled at the grandeur of the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island, standing at a staggering 305 ft! 🗽 The Statue of Liberty Museum brought us closer to Lady Liberty's history, construction, and enduring significance. The original torch and detailed plaster molds were truly awe-inspiring! 🔥
Finally, we returned to Battery Park and embarked on an impromptu panoramic tour, passing by the 9/11 Memorial, Chelsea Piers, and the USS Intrepid 🏙️. The day's adventures culminated at Cape Liberty pier, where we boarded the magnificent Holland America Rotterdam 🚢.
