A Portuguese #NationalMonument, the #Elevador da Glória or Glória Lift, dates back to 1885. It climbs a 17.7% grade from Avenida da Liberdade to Rua de São Pedro de #Alcântara, where you’ll find one of the city’s finest miradouros (or #viewpoints). And believe it or not, this #funicular is part of Lisbon’s #publictransportation system.

The #Toledo #Metro Station is one of the most beautiful of the Naples, Italy #stations. I caught this beautiful light show coming up an #escalator and had to ride up again, with my camera in hand, so I could share it with you.
#BocadoInferno (#Portuguese for Hell's Mouth) is a #chasm located in the seaside #cliffs of #Cascais. Besides being #mesmerizing, the chasm/cave was the first to be depicted in moving pictures in the 1896 British film A Sea Cave Near Lisbon. The film shows #waves breaking at the mouth of the cave.
#Piripiri chicken (or #frango #assado as the #Portuguese call it) is a traditional delight found citywide. And no wonder, it’s pretty amazing. Always on the prowl for fab frango, I was drawn to #Churrasqueira Rio de Mel #Lisboa (in the lovely #Alvalade neighborhood) by the #mouthwatering smells, line down the block, and sheer #artistry of the #rotisserie master. Can you imagine handling this #grilledchicken station? Wowza!!
O Mundo Fantástico da Sardinha Portuguesa (The Fantastic World of #Portuguese #Sardines) is definitely worth a visit when in #Lisboa. The atmosphere is pure #spectacle creating a #circus of sardines and offering decorated year-dated #tins, from 1930 to 2018 (present), with fun facts from that year printed on the #colorful #cans.
These modern times brought the 2017 #Montreal #ePrix Formula E #auto #races...as in electric #cars to local streets this summer. Very exciting to watch. These stealth #race cars can reach speeds above 150MPH. Yowza!
#Snow ? No. It's the #French performance company #gratteciel and their amazing #acrobat #angels releasing a flurry of #feathers. The #performance, called Place des Anges (Place of #Angels), closed out the fab #Montreal #circus month. C'est beau!
(((sound on, plz))) Every Sunday, at the foot of #MontRoyal, folks gather to join the tam-tams, a #drumming event that lasts all day and late into the night. If you look closely at the woman in the top right of the frame you might be able to see her joining the beat using her flip-flops #😊

Last night's FierS à Cheval was a thoroughly entertaining cavalcade of majestic #illuminated #horses making their way down Saint-Catherine to Place Émilie-Gamelin. #French #circus team, Company Quidams, has performed this show in over 40 countries. It truly was a #poetic and #imaginative #journey.
