The Nasir Al-Mulk mosque in Iran has beautiful stained glass windows in geometric shapes. I was fortunate enough to visit this mosque, despite not being Muslim back in 2001 when I did a five-month trip around Iran. I was born there but left with many other Armenians after the revolution in 1979. It is not easy for a woman to travel there alone, so I usually stayed with my fathers friends, all of whom were photographers or photography enthusiasts and knew all the spots I needed to visit. Construction of this mosque took 12 years, coming to completion in 1888. It is also known as the Pink Mosque- a must see for visitors.
