Now that I am 40, what next?

I have reflected on life lately - deeply so.

I have also found joy in the little things.

I have learned to live in the present, and enjoy each moment.

Living in the present means I no longer worry about what happened in the past nor fear what will happen in the future.

I have also observed with admiration, how people are unashamed of growing old.
It is indeed a PRICELESS GIFT.

My not-so-little sister Abie died at the age 29.

By the ‘books’ she did everything right;
She was a joy to her parents.
She graduated with distinction.
She got a good job.
She got married and was pregnant with child.
And then she died in her prime.

Life has gone on like Abie Promise Asikpo was never here. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Dear Reader, understand that we can do this life on our own terms, regardless of what that looks like to “others”.

Everyone has their own struggles, and pursuit for happiness and healing.

DO NOT let them project their negativity on your journey, and don’t do the same to others.
Guard your space jealously.

Prioritize harmony with yourself - whatever that means to you.

Rise above it all and BE ENOUGH!

Travel while you are still young and able to.

Trust that every season serves a purpose, and everything you need will come to you at the right time.

I went skiing for the first time in Semmering, Austria 🇦🇹 Semmering is 75 minutes by train from Vienna. Took my first ski lesson and it was no doubt one of the best days of my life. I can’t say I won’t do this again. I loved it. What did I love about it? 1) It was fun and fulfilling. 2) I think it is one of the best sports for all age groups. I saw more elderly people participate in this one. My coach said her grandfather still skis. 🤩 I’ll share a video of this experience on YouTube, so you can take your first virtual ski class. You’re welcome 😄 Now, when was the last time you did something for the first time? 🤔

It is a statue of a martyr, Saint John of Nepomuk, who was the court priest of King Wenceslas IV. Not the most hygienic practice but, touching the statue is generally believed to bring good luck and ensure that you return to Prague again. 🤷🏻‍♀️ You’re supposed to make a wish, and then touch the statue. #prague #charlesbridgeprague
