About Dave Thomas Limited:
"The company was formed in 1958 to enhance and promote the commercial activities of Dave Thomas’s tournament career. During the 1950’s and throughout the 1960’s Dave Thomas was widely recognised as one of the top players competing in the UK and European Tours and won several tournaments and national Opens during that time. He represented Great Britain and Ireland in the
Biennial Ryder Cup Matches played against the United States on four occasions and played in the World Cup eleven times. However, his record in the British open marks his most significant golfing achievements in tieing and losing a 35 hole play-off with Peter Thompson in 1958 and again finishing second place behind winner Jack Nicklaus at Muirfield in 1966. Golf course design became the main focus of his ambition during the 1970’s and his early projects in partnership with Peter Alliss established his reputation in the field. In the ensuing years commissions in different climates and topographies undertaken in various parts of the world expanded his knowledge, imagination and understanding of golf course design providing the invaluable experience which our company benefits from today. After graduating from The University of Texas in 1984, followed by four years playing on the PGA European Tour I committed myself to the company and golf course design as a career. My objective remains simply to build upon the success of my father's achievements and to develop the company's services, skills and golf course design activities in the best interests of our clients and their projects."
