I have been sewing since my feet could reach the pedal. My career path has lead me in many different directions, with a BS in apparel, merchandising, design and production and an MBA I have worked as a manufacturing engineer everywhere from the apparel industry to the defense industry. Currently I enjoy taking care of my family and home, but I could not keep from pursuing my love of sewing. I am p

Happy Friday! I have been busy fabricating all sorts of window treatments and bedding for a whole house remodel. It has been very exciting to be involved in this type of project! Before I share pictures of that work, here is another installation I the historic home in Taneytown from a few weeks ago. Another set of curved rods and layers of fabric to insulate and sound proof; beautiful fabric in a beautiful space.

This cushion was a beast at 145” long and it almost didn’t fit in my vehicle. My client was so pleased to have one comfy cushion in the space and no seams in the fabric. She chose an outdoor fabric and piping to prevent fading in this sunny spot.

The Maryland chapter of the Window Covering Association of America toured York Wallcoverings in York, PA on Monday. What a fantastic opportunity! I loved being back in a manufacturing setting AND seeing the incredibly gorgeous wallcoverings. It was wonderful to catch up with colleagues in this industry.

Both my client and I were thrilled with the outcome of these ripplefold panels and motorized Roman shades! The beautiful fabrics chosen fit right in with the paint colors and decor. Pattern matching is difficult, but well worth the time and effort. Video of shades in first comment.

I’ve been working on Danish mid-century modern dining chairs. These have been recovered several times resulting in extra hardware holes on the pieces. I’ve filled them all in to give a new structure for the hardware. These are getting recovered this time in a beautiful camel-colored faux leather.

This install was a beast; over 17’ of double traverse rod and yards and yards of beautiful sheer fabric. I usually install on my own, but today I hired a pro. These sheers are just gorgeous with a ripplefold header And my client’s power was out, so pictures are a little dark. We were all so oleased with the results!

Yards and yards of this gorgeous jacquard is on my table this week. I’m fabricating an additional six 1.5 width pinch pleat panels for the historical home with the curved windows.

This is my last installation before Christmas. Thanks to my clients for trusting me with the safest shade options for their small children. Six Roman shades are cordless spring operated and the three over the patio doors are motorized. The shades add warmth to the space and complete the room. Video of shades is in first comment.

These stationary Roman shades were installed a few days before Thanksgiving. My client wanted statement window treatments in her new home. Both of us were very happy with how beautiful they turned out.

This was one incredible installation! My client chose pinch pleated panels on traversing custom rods for her office and daughter’s bedroom. The curved rods in the window seat were a challenge, but the end result is worth it!

Cutting boxing for cushions

Sewing with Phifertex on this rainy day.

This week I worked on four valances out of this beautiful embroidered white linen. And I got to take my new-to-me blind hemmer for a spin! Thank you to Jean from a nearby workroom for selling me “Sweetheart”. She runs like a dream!

Between cutting and sewing cushions, I installed these five woven-wood shades in a pool house; one-button operation with motorized lift systems. They are incredible!
