Our idea to develop this app started with a 600 mile trip home from visiting family. About half way home, the kids were restless and needed a break from the car, and we needed a break from the kids. We started trying to find a place to grab some food that had a play place, but had no luck using several different web sites. The idea for Family Pit Stop was born. As we worked on the app, researching

and entering stops state by state, we eventually found out that the particular stretch of road that started all of this doesn’t have a stop with a playground. However, there are thousands of places around the country that do, and we’ve put them all in one place here on www.familypitstop.com. We spent several months developing this site, working in our basement each evening after the kids go to bed. We hope that you find Family Pit Stop.com to be a useful tool for your road trips, or anytime you’re looking for something to do with the kids. We’ve focused on restaurants that have this information accessible. If you know of a location we’ve missed, please go to our suggestions page on our website and we’ll get it added to the app for everyone to enjoy.
