to just a few weeks ago when we were exploring Killarney National Park in Ireland with Chris's parents! I have only ever seen Dublin in Ireland so it was incredible to be able to see more of the countryside on this trip!

We stopped by places like Muckross Abbey, Ross Castle, Muckross House & Gardens, Torc Waterfall, and even did a quick look at the Gap of Dunloe.

We got so lucky with the weather this day and enjoyed exploring this lovely national park. As a bonus, we spent a couple of nights at the most magnificent castle hotel, Ballyseede Castle, which is known for its resident dogs including 2 Irish wolfhounds.

to a couple of weeks ago when we drove out to the Isle of Skye and explored some stunning sights like the Old Man of Storr, the Fairy Glenn, the Quirang, and Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls.

We also stayed at an incredible hotel right in Portree with views overlooking the harbor! Cuillin Hills Hotel is a dream and the Isle of Skye is so dramatically beautiful. Even though we had off-and-on torrential downpours and high winds, this place was stunning and we must return!

PS- We were so excited to see all the sheep roaming around!

Real talk: should you visit Paris before the Olympics? I think so!

We just visited Paris this month and it was great! Okay, there is definitely more construction and things are a bit busier, but if you go into it knowing this, you'll be fine! No, you can't have a picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower at the moment, but most of the main attractions in the city are open and ready for visitors!

Also, there is a ton to see and do in Paris that isn't near where Olympic venues will be. We had a fantastic time during our visit and hope you do too!

However, I would advise against visiting during the Olympics and just before (if you aren't attending the games), as hotel prices are nuts and it'll be busy in the city. Other than that, have fun on your trip!

to just a couple of weeks ago when Chris and I visited Highclere Castle in England with my in-laws! If you're a fan of Downton Abbey, then this castle is a must-visit!

It is actually pretty easy to get to if you take the 45-minute train from Paddington Station in London to Newbury and find a taxi to the castle (just be sure to get their contact info to have them take you back to the station later)!

Highclere Castle is only open at certain times of the year for visitors, so be sure to book your tickets in advance! We also pre-booked an afternoon tea picnic complete with finger sandwiches, scones, and even some Champagne made specifically for Highclere.

What are your embarrassing travel moments?

We've certainly had a few (we even talk about these moments every year on our podcast at the end of the year)! Sometimes, things just happen, things get lost in translation, or sometimes we (okay mostly me) are just incredibly clumsy.

I will say propping up scalding hot coca tea on my leg and then it spilling all over me wasn't the best... especially considering I said quite a few choice words in front of a room full of people as my leg was burning. 🥵🤣

to April 2021 when we were hiking in Shenandoah National Park. It was the time we hiked all the way up Old Rag for a view of nothing but fog, and it was also Chris's long-hair era.

Seriously, though, it was a blast exploring Shenandoah and hiking around even if the weather was a bit foggy and misty. Sometimes weather on trips doesn't cooperate, and that is just fine; you just have to make the most of it!
