While at Melonheads or Surfside Shores, if you come across this fabulous driftwood “sculpture” snap a photo and let us see it. So far it has been in this spot for a little over a year but some day a storm is going to come and take it back. Enjoy while you can. It is located right in front of Kiva Dunes. If I could move it in front of my beach house I would.

We would love to have the exterior of Melonheads painted this year and we aren’t sure what color. Send us your ideas and choices, keeping in mind that the roof is a tan and we will not paint the wood railing. If we choose your color scheme, you will get an Amazon gift card! I had wanted to paint it a creamy white with the exterior doors a fun pop of color….but the neighbor just painted their house creamy white so i don’t think we need two White House’s in a row. See if you have what it takes to come up with a good option!

Hi Melissa. Just wanted to let you know that we have thoroughly enjoyed your beach house! We have rented many beach houses in different places and yours is one of the best so far! Our favorite part is the bottom hang out area. Most importantly...the beds are very comfy!

Exceptional views, fantastic accommodations.
Our family consisted of 2 adults, & 5 teenagers, and we couldn't have been better accommodated by this home. We had so much room inside and out to gather as a family, plus plenty of room to ourselves at the end of the night with the 4 bedrooms on the main level, and the master upstairs. All of the rooms were very well appointed, and the master suite upstairs is an amazing getaway for us parents! The views from the living room, and both outside decks are simply breathtaking. The immediate access to the beach was so awesome, when we arrived our kids were on the beach within 5 minutes, and we could easily see them enjoying the sand and water from the deck. Our morning deck coffee will never compare to the mornings we had on this deck, that is until we come back for another visit! 😉 Highly recommend this property, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven! My husband was skeptical about staying in Fort Morgan after growing up going to Gulf Shores. But Fort Morgan is now our #1 vacation destination. We hope to be back to Melonheads Beach House next year, if not sooner. THANK YOU!!!

Fort Morgan hosted the 1st nesting turtle mama for the state of Alabama Tuesday! Visitors saw this beauty and called the hotline so our volunteers were able to monitor and process her nest. This is a critically endangered species, Kemps Ridley. ( Kemp's Ridley sea turtle, also called the Atlantic Ridley sea turtle, is the rarest species of sea turtle and is the world's most endangered species of sea turtles.) They typically nest in daylight while our Loggerhead turtles prefer the dark.
If you happen to see any nesting turtle on the beach please call 866-seaturtle to report. Stay at least 30 feet away, no white lights, flash and do not disturb. It can take up to an hour to nest.

This is why we don’t leave items on the beach, should fill in holes, turn off exterior lights at night and keep the beaches clean.
