We have some fall dates available at Melonheads this year. Minimum 4 nights over weekend. 3 night minimum on weekdays.

My favorite time of year at the beach is September-December because the water is still warm, but the weather is pleasant and the crowds are GONE!
Curl up in a hammock, walk on the beach, read a book while listening to the waves and visit restaurants and bars with the locals.

While at Melonheads or Surfside Shores, if you come across this fabulous driftwood “sculpture” snap a photo and let us see it. So far it has been in this spot for a little over a year but some day a storm is going to come and take it back. Enjoy while you can. It is located right in front of Kiva Dunes. If I could move it in front of my beach house I would.

Beach House Rental

It has been our dream for our entire marriage that one day we would own our own little piece of heaven on the beach. We have come to the beach together since 1984 and we are excited to say that 35 years later we found what we think is the perfect fit for our family and hope that it is a perfect fit for you to bring your family for your next vacation. Our goal is to rent to just a few select families that wish to come back year after year and will treat this like it is theirs. We are lucky that we can come down more often than the average owner. Our goal is to be here one week every month and to keep making improvements as we go.

So many people ask where we came up with the name Melonheads. It all started many years ago when someone told us they were talking to some friends and mentioned they were going to “Mel and Ed’s”. The person looked at them and said, “who is melonhead”? They thought it was funny and so did we. When the time came to name our beach house, we joked about it being Melonheads....but it really did seem to be right! The more we said it, the more we knew it was perfect.

We are so proud of our place on the beach and welcome you to contact us and see if it is a right vacation spot for you too.
