Hi Everyone, thanks for posting, following, messaging so far - I don't have much time to manage this page these days (life just got in the way...) so I'm pleased everyone still uses it for discussion about this company.

A few points just as a refresher:

1. The page isn't official or in any way related to Scottish Power, it was started as a simple way for folks to discuss the problems they're having with them (which are clearly many).

2. I do try and read posts and respond if I can, but I personally got rid of Scottish Power many years ago now (this page has been running for at least two years) so I'm not sure how much I can help.

3. I appreciate the posts, messages and even the odd message calling me a w*nker, sh*t and other names of those persuasion, thankfully they're from folks confusing this page with an official page - please refer back to #1 :)

I appreciate them because it's clear what everyone thinks of Scottish Power still! :D

Please do keep posting, liking and following where possible as if you can help just one other person out to get a resolution with Scottish Power, then its time well spent.

At the end of July i'll be collating all the complaints on this page and on their official page (as much as I can, there's a bloody fair amount!!) and putting it into a document, that's going to Watchdog, the Ombudsman and the PM.

Welcome to the new folks to the page, and thank you to the others that have shared their experience with the disaster of a company that is Scottish Power :)

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/62589 Come on folks, it's time someone did something about Scottish Power, NPower have been given several months to turn their situation around before they are blocked from taking on new sales, the same should happen to Scottish Power!!!

Scottish Power customer service is so poor that there are groups on social media full of angry customers who feel the customer service they have received is unacceptable.

Sorry folks, my day job has been consuming my life for a while so not had chance to post.

I'll update the page this week.

I've had a thought of what I'd like to do to raise awareness; I'll collate all the complaints on this page and send them to the Ombudsman, PM, Board of Directors at SP and anyone else I can find relevant to the cause.

Its time for someone to step in and put SP to rights, the Ombudsman is clearly toothless and slow moving, we need action now.

I'm determined to make sure everyone is aware of whats happening here, this level of service cannot continue, I've still not had a response on my ongoing complaint either.

Update on my complaint.

So not only have they not taken the money Ive paid off my last bill! But they've over estimated usage by over a year!! Using the daily usage (estimated by taking the difference between two, three-month apart readings and dividing by the number of days) they'd over estimated by 450+ days...

Incredible.

I have however, had my response back from the Ombudsman, finally. They're dealing with it now, so I've sent them the reams of communications I've got with Scottish Power (mainly from my side!).

I've also had insider information sent to me on the inner workings of Scottish Power, really interesting and confirms my thoughts. I'll post it up once I've drafted the post up

Keep sharing folks, I'm more determined than ever to get Scottish Power to commit to a mandate to improve their service, their directors are responsible and not doing their job. Someone should be held accountable here!

Update on my complaint!

Not only has Scottish Power failed to acknowledge the last payment on my Gas bill (just checked and it left my account) but in issuing the final bill they have massively overestimated the usage!

Contacting them is proving to be a nightmare as usual, check out the below - I tried every date and every time in the drop down to keep getting the same message over and over again.

So, take my money but dont apply it to my bill, then bill me for Gas Ive not even used? When can I finally be free of this disastrous company!!

And so the truth is out! Its easy to blame the "new system" but what you HAVE to realise is, that the system is only as bad as the implementation. Whoever ran the programme of work to choose the platform, the team needed to implement it and the QA/Implementation itself, work out the dependancies and the contingency plans of it not going to plan - essentially is to be held accountable.

One of the FIRST points on a programme plan of this size would be; what happens if things dont go to plan? Well, for something as important as billing (the source of revenue for the company and the main cause for customer dissatisfaction) you NEED to have the customer services infrastructure there to support it!!! It is SO simple - if you c**k up the billing system, the number of calls, emails and messages are going to go through the roof!!

Smacks of poor management, as usual. And the software gets the blame yet again.

So Facebook tells me I've managed to "reach" 1,246 people with this page, and the dedicated website has reached similar numbers from what I can tell.

I hope Scottish Power are starting to take note! A change is needed, but it's all quiet on the SP front as they just continue to bleat on about improved call centres (really?!) and an App they've launched.

All well and good, but if you can't get the core product and service right then no App will save you, how about stop investing in fancy Apps and more into reducing call times and getting complaints resolved to your customers satisfaction?!

Poor levels of customer service will not be tolerated anymore, we spend a fortune each year with Energy suppliers, who report massive profits year after year - it's time for a change!
