The Battleship New Jersey is a one-of-a-kind attraction in America. On 27 March it sailed for the first time in decades down the Delaware River to the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard Dry Dock #3. There she will undergo preventative maintenance which should allow her to flourish as an historic destination for years to come.

One of the last invited guests to visit her before cast-off was Company President, George S.T. DeBolt, seen here at #3 Turret.

You have one more week to visit "The Age of Armor" exhibit at the Toledo Museum of Art - the first exhibit dedicated to the art of arms and armor. With more than 80 pieces of bronze, steel, and iron on display the exhibit aims to convey the sensation of stories of gallant knights, courtly love, and brave acts of derring-do. In 2022 the world celebrates the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Harriet Tubman. DeBOLT Tours can set up a Tour of the Harriet Tubman Trail along the East Coast. Stops include the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center, Emancipation Oak, The African-American Museum in Philadelphia, Baltimore's Reginald F. Lewis Museum and sites where she lived, worked...and from which she fled.

DeBolt Tours has just begun offering interpretive Tours of St. Emma's Military Academy west of Richmond. As the nation's only military academy for African-American males, it was unlike any other school in America. Closed in 1972, 10,000 men attended after its founding in 1895. A renewed effort to save the legacy of the beloved school began last Spring. DeBOLT Tours is proud to be part of that effort.

The excitement of the Cincinnati Bengals playing in their first Championship game in over 30 years found its way onto the Interstate Highway System. An eagle-eyed rider onboard the DeBOLT WHO DEY Express spotted this sign along the route from Cincinnati to Kansas City. Sure had the Bus Driver do a double-take.

Although a born and bred hardcore Pittsburgh Steelers Fan, DeBOLT Company President George S.T. DeBolt got Shanghaied by the passengers on the Tour he was escorting. If you ask him, he has no recollection of the photos below...but now he has a Team, a city, and fans to cheer for at the Super Bowl.

At the request of the Play-off Drought-stricken Fans of the Cincinnati Bengals, DeBOLT Tours organized a last-minute package to Kansas City for the AFC Championship game against the Chiefs. The Trip sold-out immediately. After the upset win, Fans on the bus attributed the victory to their presence at the game thanks to DeBolt Tours. WHO DEY!

Did you know that AMTRAK conducts a campaign to reduce railroad-related collisions, deaths, and injuries across the United States? This week it unveiled a one-of-a-kind locomotive in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Operation Lifesaver. The program has helped reduce incidents at railroad crossings from 12,000 in 1972 to 1,900 in 2020. DeBOLT Tours often finds that AMTRAK is the most attractive option for transporting groups across America.

A rare snowy owl - similar to Hedwig who delivered messages to Harry Potter - has been thrilling onlookers in Washington, DC since 3 January. The snowy owl, far from its Summer breeding grounds in Canada, has been seen flying around Capitol Hill and Union Station. Contrary to popular belief, this winged Visitor was NOT participating in a DeBOLT Student Tour.

Winner of the "Best-Use-of-a-Dormant-Baseball-Park Award"? Nationals Park in Washington, DC. It has been turned into a Winter Wonderland with a mythical forest of twinkling lights and Christmas -themed art installations. Additional features include an Ice-Skating Trail, Light Maze, Christmas market, and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. It is a must-see attraction on DeBolt Tours to DC at this time of year.

Mesa Verde National Park in southwestern Colorado has been accredited as the 100th International Dark Sky Park. Mesa Verde has long been a unique destination to learn about the Ancestral Puebloan people who made it their home for over 700 years from 600 to 1300 CE. Now the Park offers visitors the opportunity to experience the wonder of starry nights with a breathtaking array of stars, planets, and neighboring galaxies. Mesa Verde is included on DeBolt Tours to the Canyonlands in neighboring Utah.

Wednesday's Final Jeopardy answer referenced an obscure historical footnote unknown even to the well-read Staff at DeBolt Tours. Mark Kellogg a reporter for the Bismarck Tribune was among those killed along with George Custer and the rest of the 7th Cavalry at the Battle of the Little Bighorn 25 June 1876. Kellogg is considered the first Associated Press correspondent to die in the line of duty. DeBolt Tours often includes a visit to the battlefield on Tours to Yellowstone National Park and Mt. Rushmore.

FAO Schwarz is BACK - just in time for the Holiday Season! Students on DeBolt Tours to Manhattan are surprised to learn that America's legendary toy store has relocated to 30 Rockefeller Center. Famous for its high-end toys, life-sized stuffed animals, and interactive experiences there is no other toy store on Earth like it. DeBolt has been taking young people there since 1956.

The recent "Friends" reunion brought renewed attention to the often overlooked Warner Bros. Backlot Tour in Hollywood. You can actually explore the Centrel Perk set from Friends and the sets of the Big Bang Theory as well as recreated sets, props, and costumes from the DC Universe and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. A great fun and educational experience when your School visits the LA area.

Here's a great way to welcome back live music, Washington, DC, and the unexpected international camaraderie which developed in a small town in Newfoundland on September 11, 2001. The cast of the Broadway Musical Come From Away will be in performing in concert at the Lincoln Memorial this Friday evening September 10. The concert is free, open to the public rain or shine, and marks the first time Come From Away's music will be performed for a live audience since March 2020.

The "City That Never Sleeps" took a rare nap last night. As a result of unprecedented rains from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, New York City issued a travel ban in the wake of flooding that suspended virtually all of the city's subway lines. The ban required all non-emergency vehicles off the streets. "It is absolutely astounding," Mayor Bill de Blasio told DeBolt Tours.

Nauticus in Norfolk, Virginia has announced their plans to celebrate World Maritime Day on 25 September. Plans include a session on Modern Piracy, a demonstration of how ships get replenished at sea, and a chance to operate an underwater robot in a mock harbor inspection. Nauticus is a great add-on for Educational Tours to both Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.

Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC announced they are welcoming educational Groups of 10 or more back to the Theatre and Museum. As you might expect, some changes have been made to keep visitors, staff, and artists safe. At this time, the Petersen House across the street and Aftermath Exhibits remain closed.

The National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, DC is holding its Grand Reopening Celebration this weekend. A new educational Patrol Driving Simulator, the only one of its kind in the country not housed in a police training academy, will join their popular Decision-Making Simulator Experience.

This educational exhibit showcases more than 40 rare American flags alongside historic early state constitutions to shed light on the triumphs and tensions that the United States faced as new states joined the Union.

Today we celebrate the discovery of Sue the largest Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton ever discovered. Found in South Dakota by a fossil hunter named...Sue...Sue is one of the most popular exhibits on educational Tours to Chicago. The tremendous skeleton - 13 feet high and 42 feet long with a 2,000-pound skull and 58 teeth - has her own special exhibition space in the Field Museum.

The "Field of Dreams" movie location in Dyersville is one of the most popular attractions for educational tours in Iowa. Tomorrow night the first MLB game EVER to be played in the state will take place in a new stadium constructed right next door. Two teams mentioned in the film - the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox - will play each other. Seats for the match-up have become the hottest in Major League Baseball.

Philadelphia's Museum of the American Revolution has announced a new exhibit opening in October: LIBERTY: Don Troiani's Paintings of the Revolutionary War. This exhibit will plunge educational visitors into some of the most pivotal events of America's fight for independence and reveal "the artist's masterful combination of artistry and accuracy".
