Bergen’s Opus XVI occupies the Banco Rotto, built for the city’s largest bank in 1876. Its brick façade and distinctive architecture make this a well-known landmark. 💎
Architect Herman Schirmer created an imposing space with granite walls and Ionic columns. Schak Bull, cousin of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, who incidentally also designed his relative’s home, extended it in 1918. 💎
Today, Grieg’s relatives, who extend a warm welcome to all guests and pride themselves on providing the highest standards of service and hospitality, manage the luxury boutique hotel. Its 65 rooms and suites are classical yet feel modern; some have views toward Mount Fløyen, while others overlook the quiet plaza of Vågsallmenningen.💎
