Question:
1. Philippine Citizen and Australian Citizen. Planning to get married in Australia. Is it necessary to report their Marriage in Philippine Embassy?

Ans: Yes, a Report of Marriage must be filed at a Philippine Embassy or Consulate covering the country where you got married.

2. Is Philippine marriage recognized in Australia?

Ans: No, Your marriage in the Philippines will not be recognized in Australia unless your divorce is recognized under Australian law.

3. Do I need to register my overseas marriage in Australia?

Ans: No. There is no requirement to register a marriage in Australia which takes place overseas. Section 88G (1) of the Marriage Act states that an original or certified copy of a marriage certificate issued by a competent authority in a foreign country is sufficient evidence of the marriage.

4. If you are an Australian Citizen and wishing to marry overseas/Filipina. What are the requirements?

Ans:
a. Passport
b. Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (CNI).
c. Birth Certificate
If you are an Australian citizen wishing to marry overseas, the foreign government may request you to secure a Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (CNI). This is known locally as a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Philippine government has advised that it will accept either requires a CNI issued by the Australian Embassy in the Philippines or an affidavit signed in front of a Notary Public licensed in the Philippines.
Validity of CNIs:
a. You are encouraged to discuss with the marrying authority (i.e. courts; religious institutions; city/municipal offices) in your area and note the requirements in order to get married. The Philippine Government normally does not accept a CNI issued more than 6 months prior to the date of marriage.
b. The Australian Embassy cannot advise on the Philippines' specific requirements for Australians to get married in the country. You are encouraged to discuss with the marrying authority in your area.

DIVORCE OF AUSTRALIAN NATIONALS PREVIOUSLY MARRIED IN THE PHILIPPINES
Foreign divorce decrees are not automatically recognized in the Philippines. Australian nationals who were previously married in the Philippines and are intending to remarry in the Philippines after obtaining a divorce in Australia should check with National Statistics Office/Philippine Statistics Authority in the Philippines to confirm their divorce decree has been acknowledged by the local government.

CNI FOR AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS (NOT AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS)
Australian residents who are not Australian citizens must apply for a CNI from their country's embassy or consulate in the Philippines.

HOW TO OBTAIN A MARRIAGE LICENCE
A marriage licence is issued by the Philippine authorities and either you or your intended spouse (or both) must apply for this at the local civil registrar (City Hall) in the town or district where your intended spouse normally lives. In accordance with Philippine law, it is necessary to wait ten days from the date of application before a licence can be issued. Evidence of your identity and divorce/death of a previous spouse (if applicable) is usually required by the Philippine authorities.

6. Having a baby born in Australia. Is it automatically Australian Citizen?

Ans: Yes, if! The other parents is Australian citizen at the time the baby born and the child born is in Australia. That child is automatically Australian citizen.

Registration to S-PaSS – Please take a screenshot of your approved Travel Coordination Permit (TCP) once registration is complete.
Registration to StaySafe.ph – Please make sure to save a printed or digital copy of the QR code.

Travel Requirements to Tacloban

The City of Tacloban requires all arriving guests to present the following documents, to be accepted for flight:

Guests with Tacloban City as their final destination are required to present an Acceptance Certificate upon check-in. Register to the Balik Tacloban Project online, through the Tacloban Safe City mobile app, or by calling any of the following hotline numbers:

These are required documents to secure an Acceptance Certificate.

For Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI):

Government issued ID
Barangay Certificate from place of origin, attesting that the bearer is neither a probable, suspected, nor confirmed COVID-19 patient (if available)
Negative RT-PCR (swab) test result, conducted within forty-eight (48) hours prior to arrival
For Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR):

Company ID or Certificate of Employment
Travel Order
Negative RT-PCR (swab) test result, conducted within forty-eight (48) hours prior to arrival
For Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF):

Negative RT-PCR (swab) test result, issued by Philippine National Red Cross or Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory upon arrival in the Philippines
Bureau of Quarantine Certificate
Government issued ID
These documents will be processed within three (3) working days from the day of submission. Please wait for the Acceptance Letter with Tacloban City QR code and keep a printed or digital copy of this.

Guests with incomplete documents will be required to undergo a 10-day quarantine. Guests without a negative RT-PCR (swab) test result before the flight will be tested upon arrival and must quarantine while waiting for the result.

All guests bound for Calbayog City, Catbalogan City, and municipalities in Samar Province are not required to present a negative RT-PCR (swab) test result upon check-in.

Based on local government regulations, there is a temporary suspension on the acceptance of passengers bound for the municipalities of Kawayan and Biliran from April 28, 2021 to May 12, 2021.

If you’re travelling to Australia you must provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test to your airline when checking in for your flight at the departure point.
This applies to all travellers five years of age or older departing on flights on or after 22 January 2021.
You must be tested 72 hours or less prior to departure and present a negative result when checking in prior to boarding your flight.
If you transit through a third country on your return journey to Australia, you should check on any local requirements at your transit destination and follow the advice of local authorities on social distancing and mask wearing while in transit.
If you or a member of your travelling group tests positive, you won’t be allowed to travel to Australia.
Exemptions to the COVID-19 (PCR) testing requirements will only be applied in extenuating circumstances such as where there is no access to testing.
Anyone who has a negative test result and enters Australia must still complete mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated facilities in your port of arrival.
