I am a classically trained cellist with performance experience in various fields as well as a teacher. My wife is a violinist with extensive experience performing, teaching and recording. We are always together and see our lives as one of service to community.
As in the ancient violin making tradition, I learned by apprenticing. Apprenticing is much more than just looking over someone’s shoulder, it is submitting yourself to a regiment of the teacher. Of course I also earned degrees, awards and certificates in performing and science.
I begun my restoration craft in conservatory when I was 12 years old. I helped my studies by doing repairs and setup on faculty and student instruments. I make violin family instrument from my workshop in Sarasota, Florida.
From my violin shop in Sarasota, or Atelier (private studio), I produce instruments and bows. 90% of my clients are fine performers who own significant instruments. My wife and I work in supporting youth programs throughout the Southeast United States to preserve and promote the art of violin playing. I don't run a retail establishment, as I prefer to focus my time, talents and efforts in producing and working on our helping mission.
