Bear Lake year round?

I shouldn’t tell you this.

It’s a little secret and likely the locals are going to kill me.

Here’s the truth: Covid changed the Bear Lake area. People that couldn’t travel suddenly discovered this beautiful place that was within a 2.5 hour drive of SLC

What used to be only a summer place for July and August is now hopping from Memorial Day through September… and the growth is exploding.

But let’s talk about Spring Winter and Fall … or not .. because visiting during that time is still a secret.

The crowds haven’t figured it out yet.

I mean really what exactly is a gigantic blue ice cube?? And how does it make a sound like nothing you’ve ever heard before ?

The secret is safe with me 🤫

The question that led to the discovery wasn’t unique. It was a question you have heard a million times. What brings you closer to Christ? What gets you into the scriptures? How do you make that relationship a priority?
We all started thinking of checklists, and boxes, and expectations, and the guilt that comes from remembering what we don’t do well.
And then a woman from the south raised her hand. “I left the boxes behind several ago,” she started explaining to us. “I figured out how to let go of the guilt.” She told us that we might think what she does is unconventional and we were instantly intrigued.
On a regular basis, throughout the day, she repeats a simple phrase, “find your Jesus.”
In moments that are hard, times when she needs comfort, when she is looking for answers, she repeats it over and over again, “just find your Jesus.” It’s what draws her into the scriptures, it calls her to prayer, it has become the phrase that invites her into a constant relationship with a Savior who will meet her where she is, as she is. Who will help her to become more.
I immediately thought of a favorite scripture from Nephi, “I glory in my Jesus” (2 Nephi 33:6)
And maybe Nephi asked himself that same question as well because somehow he found his Jesus, and he gloried in Him.
