A 5 hrs hike from the village Ansò, with a 1 km ascent climb. Great views and without seeing anyone or hearing a car or aeroplane.

The Fort Alfonso XII or San Cristóbal is a fort located on the top of the mount San Cristóbal or Ezcaba (892,8 m above sea level), 4 km from Pamplona, Spain. It was erected following the 1872-1876 Carlist War to control a strategic point towering over Pamplona. It was later made into a makeshift prison during the 2nd Spanish Republic.

April 1879. Ferdinand Cheval, a 43-year-old rural postman, stumbles upon a stone so strange during his rounds that it awakens a dream. A true autodidact, he devoted 33 years of his life to building a dream palace in his vegetable garden, inspired by nature, postcards and the first illustrated magazines he distributed.

Every day he travelled over 30 kilometres to collect stones in the countryside with the help of his trusty wheelbarrow. A loner, misunderstood, he inscribed on his monument “the work of one man”. His dream palace was completed in 1912.

Trusted house sitting in An alternative way of travelling.

In the area of Gex, between the French Alps and the Jura Mountains with a view of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc.
Natural beauty, walking trails, cycling paths, and relaxing waterfalls - A paradise retreat.
There are chickens, a veg and herb garden, a gym, coffee on tap, and a small town with a village feel. Less touristy, with Brits/Europeans who are living or working in the area.... Making it a great place to escape to.

Hike
I've been admiring the mountains from 100 km away, for the last few days, from the trusted house/pet sitting, across Lake Geneva. We headed off to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, and took the cable car up to Aiguille Du Midi 3842 metres to view Mont Blanc, and hiked back down the legendary mountain.

Amazing views of Mont Blanc.
I've been admiring the mountains from Gex 100 ks away, across Lake Geneva for the last few days. From where I am pet sitting and today took the cable car up to Aiguille Du Midi 3842 meters to view Mont Blanc, and hiked back down the legendary mountain.
