Travel has always been a part of my life. From leaving Ireland for California at the age of three, to living in Spain, Hungary and Ireland once again in my twenties, exploration has been one of my few constants. This year, 2015, my wife Anita and I are moving to Hungary from Southern California, where we've been living for the past seven years. Anita is Hungarian and I have visited Hungary a dozen
times in the ten years we've been together. For some time now we have discussed moving back to Europe; if anything just for a change of scenery and pace. And as I realize more and more how much pleasure I get out of travel writing and photography it simply makes sense to live abroad and satiate my curiosity. When I first visited Hungary in 2005, I knew next to nothing beyond Budapest being the capital about this little nation of 10 million. This is probably true for many people around the globe. As I've visited again and again over the years, my eyes have opened to the wealth of history and culture present there. As a crossroads between east and west, Hungary boasts a diverse array of attractions both natural and man made. Then of course there's the Hungarian language; unique and mysterious in all it's poetic glory. And through this page and my blog I hope to share with you our adventures (and misadventures) as we delve into what makes Hungary tick.
