Your first @ is who you should take this drive with 👯‍♀️👯 This is Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden, and it’s another on our must-see list in Oahu. 🏝️ Ho’omaluhia means “to make a place of peace and tranquility,” and wow, is this place relaxing. It was the perfect drive-through (yes, you can drive, bike, hike, or walk through the grounds) after a busy morning. Along the paved driving path, there were multiple opportunities to park and get out and explore individual hikes, each featuring plantings from major tropical regions around the world grouped geographically, including: Philippines, Malaysia, Tropical America, India & Sri Lanka, Melanesia, Hawaii, Polynesia, and Africa. 🌺 As you move through these lush 400 acres, you will truly agree that Hoʻomaluhia is rightfully named “a peaceful refuge.” We observed picnics, birthday parties, live jam sessions, and lots of sitting and relaxing to enjoy the view. Did you know that most libraries in the United States allow you to check out passes to local museums and attractions for free? We took advantage of the free membership pass to @elmwoodparkzoo from our local Upper Merion Township Library @umtlibrary last week. Not only did we get to attend the zoo for free, but the membership pass also gave us discounts at the gift shop, on experiences like feeding the giraffes, and on food. Our library allowed us to check the pass out for three days, and reserve it for 24 hours before pick up. 🙌 To find out what attraction passes your local library offers, search “museum and attraction library program” plus your ZIP Code. Scroll through the options, then give the library a call to reserve the pass. You need a free library card in order to take advantage of this program, so head into your local library with your state ID containing your home address if you don’t already have one.
