A few modifications to the SMB Projects office over the weekend.

This was just a job we were going to get around to when we had a bit of spare time and a space that didnt really make sense without explanation.

However, Trace and I recently had covid and whilst doing a lot of work from home while unwell we both realized we really needed something more functional than the temporary solution we had come up with.

I think you can finally see our vision brought to life for this space now.

This one was a good repair for Mark and Paige.
This set of stairs had definitely seen better days at this rental in Caboolture. We demolished the previous stairs, installed all new steel stringers, new hardwood step treads and handrails as well as new decking to the landing, all primed and ready for paint. It’s much safer now and looks a whole lot better.

Sometime the photos just don’t do it Justice.
This is a before and after of a water damaged Vijay ceiling.
Although the damage is difficult to see in the before photos because it’s all white gloss, this ceiling was damage beyond repair.
We replaced the ceiling with all new Vijay and trims and finished it off with a fresh coat of paint.

Eighth and final series of pics - The finishing touches.
Today we added the top cap to the fence to finish it off.
A few weeks later we added some turf and some gardens to complete the area.
Like I said in the beginning, this was a labour of love but gee it was worth it.
We are pretty happy with the end result.

Seventh Series - Today we unboxed the concrete, spread some more crusher dust and installed the aluminum fence. We had to take a break for a few days to let the pebblecrete guys come in and finish the pool.
As soon as they were done we were back into it and on went the top cap.
The finished pics will be posted in the next series of pics, come back tomorrow morning to see the finished product.

Fifth Series - Pour day 1.
Today was the day!
We had so many people volunteer to help that it made the day run so smoothly which is great when you're pouring this much concrete at once.
Our Dads came to help as well as some old friends we've met on job sites over the years.
It was a good effort by everyone and we couldn't have thanked them enough

Fourth series - slab prep day 2. Today we stained the posts and taped up the pool coping and drains we installed to protect them from the concrete. We had help from our Dads today which we were very grateful for.
Tomorrow morning I'll be sharing 2 posts with pics of the pour. All the hard work so far has been for this day.

Third series- slab prep day 1.
As I mentioned yesterday, alot of crusher dust was spread today.

Trace and I got to work with a beautiful view on Monday doing a nice little job at Ocean View.
Another water damage repair but this time to a garage door.
We removed the damaged jams and trims and replaced it with new timbers and siliconed the joins to ensure it is more water resistant in the future.

Second Series- Earthworks around the pool.
This day was a big one and made such a difference to the area. We were fortunate enough to have someone come and help move the fill but the crusher pile pictured and another truckload was all spread by hand to prepare for the concrete and eventual turf.

Over the next week I will be sharing a few posts of a pool fence we did back in late September and into October for some of our favourite clients, it was a labour of love.

My wife and I worked as a team on this one with some help from a few family members and friends as well.

We started with landscaping to build up to the pool area with several tonnes of fill and crusher dust, slab prep including boxing up some little gardens and installing a strip drain, standing and staining merbau posts, pouring the concrete slab, installation of aluminium pool fencing and stained merbau top cap. We then planted the gardens to create this beautiful retreat area for our kids to enjoy.

The client in our previous post was so happy with our work on the fence and retaining that he asked us back to fix up some more retaining shown here in the pics. We also have a possible alfresco extension for this client coming soon so stay tuned

Some pics of a retaining wall and fence repair by SMB projects.
This client and his Neighbour were having issues with their dividing fence and the retaining wall below falling apart. After some demo and a bit of digging we built a new retaining wall and fence to bring it back up to scratch. Two very happy neighbours.
