A Work In Progress...
June 9th, 2016
One of the first big decisions I had to make after writing my stories was how to do the illustrations. Although I had no professional drawing experience, I had time and loved to learn new things so I decided to give it a try. Although Maggie's Epic Pancake was my first book, my first real drawing experience was Autumn Snow. At first I was happy with the pictures, however, as I learned more about illustration and made more books, I realized that the pictures could be better. Although it was going to be a lot of work, it was important that I give the world my very best so I worked on the pictures again. After working hard for two months, I finally finished the pictures and was thrilled with their new look (see example below).
Although it felt great to make that book the first time, it felt even better to improve it. So remember, as you live out your life be proud of what you accomplish, but if you think something could be better, by all means do it. After all, life is not so much about what you do, but how you it...you are forever a beautiful work in progress;)
