Karen Plummer Counselling If you are troubled, anxious, stressed, or depressed, I can provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your feelings without fear of judgement.

I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and I adhere to their professional code of conduct and ethical framework for good practice. Psychodynamic theory focuses on both the past and the present. The psychodynamic approach looks at how important the role of the unconscious and past experiences are on influencing o

ur current behaviour. Together we will work towards a better understanding of where your problems have originated and how to deal with them and look to the future. As a counsellor I aim to provide an empathic, supportive, safe, strictly confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore and make sense of your thoughts and emotions from your individual perspective. I specialise in issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, abuse, self harm and stress. I work with adults and adolescents on a short or long term basis according to your needs. Each person is unique so I work in different ways to encourage greater insight and awareness.

Blue Monday is a PR stunt that was originally dreamed up to sell holidays.
It is a myth, a false calculation based on things like the gloomy weather, post-Christmas debt, disappointment from not keeping New Year’s resolutions, dissatisfaction about going back to work and general doom and gloom.

We should not just be thinking about our mental health on 18th January this year, but on every day of the year. Depression and other mental health problems last for more than a day. And mental health problems can affect people in different ways on any day of the year.

Mental Health Awareness Week is 15th - 21st May.

This years theme is anxiety. We all feel anxious from time to time. Anxiety is a natural response to the uncertain world around us. Anxiety can affect us mentally and physically. Anxiety disorders affect over 8 million people in the UK – that’s a little over 1 in 10 of us – and there are lots of different types. There are many online resources available and talking to a professional can help to alleviate and look at coping mechanisms.
