Well finally the bus is finished being repaired and is back on the road better than when we bought it

Well since the fire we have jumped through all the insurance hoops and have come through the other side. The bus has been declared a repairable write off and the insurance has paid out the full amount the bus was insured for. Also as they did not want the cost to pick it up and take it to auction in Adelaide, they sold it to us for $2000. The plan now is to repair it. This week the bus goes in for repairs on the body. We are still not sure if we will replace the engine for a diesel or repair the petrol motor. Still trying to work out the logistics and costs.
We currently have jobs at the Kimba Pub (Sim behind the bar and I do maintenance) and a nice place to stay with very good friends and have bought a nice little car to tow behind the bus once it is back on the road.

So on Christmas day we had a fire on the bus. The only thing that saved the whole bus going up was the dog alerted us to the fire and we were on a farm with fire fighting equipment. A big thanks to all that helpped fight the fire.

So over the past month or so we have been on the east coast in NSW visiting the kids and friends. We had a great time and it was really good to see them all.
During this time we stayed in Forbes, Newcastle, Grafton, McLean, Bellengen and Port Macquarie. We spent last night in Yass and here is a photo of the neighbours.
Now we are on the way back to Kimba in SA to get ready for the wheat harvest.

So since my last post we have been staying in the renmark/Loxton area. I worked at a fruit dehydration factory turning grapes into raisins, currents and sultanas. It was a good job and I enjoyed the time there till the season finished. Then Simone and I worked at a citrus packing plant putting oranges into 3kg bags. We did not overly enjoy this job and as such have moved on from it to head over to the east coast to visit the kids and friends before we head back to kimba for the wheat season.
Yesterday we had breakfast in S.A, lunch in Vic and dinner in NSW. We stayed at a lovely spot on the Murray river and will continue east today.

So we got a new 12v 165l fridge. Had to cut the bench to fit it but is so nice to be able to carry a lot more fresh food and a heap more frozen food.

So we are now in Renmark, staying on the Murry river.
I am working as a Harvest Observer for the 2018 vintage harvest which entales sitting on a grape harvester making sure the machine does on jam up as it picks the grapes.

Matt and I did our last shift at Pinnaroo today. We really enjoyed our time there, it was great to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Shout out to the OG harvest daughters, Erika and Ellen 😘
