🖤💛 Protecting Zimbabwe’s Painted Dogs 🖤💛

At Rewild Safaris, we are proud to support the incredible work of Painted Dog Conservation, who are on the frontlines of saving these endangered animals.

Recently, Executive Director Peter Blinston and Senior Tracker Jealous Mpofu led a successful operation to remove a dangerous wire snare from Kwasha, the alpha male of the Linkwasha pack. Thanks to their expertise, Kwasha was safely darted, treated, and released back into the wild. They also fitted Yaya, a beta male, with an anti-snare VHF collar for continued monitoring—only to discover he had already survived a previous snaring incident.

With snaring activity increasing, collaboration is critical. Vital tracking data has been shared with local operators and to enhance protection efforts. Tracker Kelvin Mwanza remains in the field, keeping a close eye on Kwasha’s recovery.

Every collar, every intervention, and every rescue brings us one step closer to securing the future of these incredible animals. Let’s rewild together. 🌍🐾
