Our first Cappadocia tour has just wrapped up, and we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us. From rising for 4:30 a.m. call times without missing a beat, to photographing freshly rain-soaked mud cracks and capturing the powerful motion of over a hundred Yilki horses galloping beneath the shadow of Mount Erciyes—you embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
We roamed the surreal rock formations of Cappadocia, framing compositions as hot air balloons drifted overhead, and turned a rainy afternoon into a creative highlight—thanks to a couple of participants who graciously stepped in as impromptu models.

This has been one of our most diverse and creatively fulfilling tours to date, and we’re truly grateful to each of you for making it such a success.

Now it’s time for a well-earned two-day break—before we begin our second tour!

We wrapped up our first Patagonia tour of 2025 just a few days ago, and we’d love to extend our deepest gratitude to every participant who joined us on this unforgettable adventure.
Since we began leading tours in Patagonia in 2017, we’ve been fortunate to witness countless breathtaking moments—but this year delivered something truly special. We experienced some of the most remarkable sunrises I’ve ever seen across three iconic locations:

The unique cloud formations reflected perfectly over the old pier in Puerto Natales, creating a surreal scene .
The dramatic sunrise from the top of Mirador Fitz Roy, where the first light kissed the rugged peaks in a fiery glow.
And a spectacular display of lenticular clouds at Salto Grande in Torres del Paine, capping off our final sunset with an extraordinary show in the sky.
To our amazing group—thank you for bringing your enthusiasm, curiosity, and passion for photography. Sharing these moments with you made this journey even more meaningful. We hope the memories you’ve made, and the images you’ve captured, continue to inspire you long after the trip.

As I write this, we’re already three days into our second tour, and Patagonia continues to bless us—we’ve seen Fitz Roy unveiled for three consecutive days! Truly a rare gift in this wild corner of the world.

Here’s to many more adventures together!

NIGHT SHIFT
Orange nectar bat
Costa Rica
Photographing the Orange Nectar Bat in Costa Rica is an exhilarating yet challenging endeavor, particularly at night. These nocturnal mammals are known for their unique feeding mechanism, using specialized grooves in their tongues to pump nectar against gravity. Capturing these moments requires waiting in complete darkness near nectar-rich flowers, pre-focusing the camera, and relying on precise flash setups.
The difficulty lies in the bat's rapid, unpredictable movements and the need for absolute patience, often while enduring numerous mosquito bites. Successfully photographing these elusive creatures, however, offers a rewarding glimpse into their fascinating behavior and the rich biodiversity of Costa Rica's nocturnal wildlife.
These are some of my favorite takes of this nocturnal wonder. Check out this tour in November 2024 - https://widehorizonphototours.com/workshops/2024/exotic-costa-rica-adventure
