Two lovely Shire horses pulling holidaymakers around Hampton Court Palace gardens this morning. The East Front of the Palace was looking particularly grand today.

Today I was privileged as part of my professional development to go on a tour of Hampton Court Palace gardens led by one of the head gardeners. Beautiful gardens and got some great insights into their history. Here’s a teaser - the wisteria in the third pic is one of only three cuttings taken from the first wisteria introduced into the UK from the USA in the early 1800s. london

Had a lovely morning walk at the historic Claremont Gardens created in the 1700s. The Belvedere on top of the hill was built as a focal point in the garden (the hedges lead your eyes to it) and was used for supper parties. The magnificent Cedar of Lebanon tree stands out across the lake and is also about 300 years old. london
