Art Exhibition: The Generative Tree: New Work by Jenn Karson

Over 600 vibrant prints and an interactive AI installation explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and ecological restoration in The Generative Tree, a groundbreaking exhibition debuting at The Phoenix Gallery. Created by artist Jenn Karson and her Plant Machine Design Group at the University of Vermont, the exhibition is a dynamic interplay of arts and science methodologies while offering a local Vermont perspective on a global era shaped by rapid technological advancements and worsening climate crises.

Waterbury Recreation hosts a monthly Kids Night Out. For the holiday season, get your paintbrushes ready for “Canvas and Cocoa” night. A kids-only paint night, where youthful artists will be instructed in a holiday themed scene while enjoying hot cocoa. Before painting, kiddos will enjoy some pizza. While their paint dries, kids can enjoy some free choice time while listening to some holiday music and enjoying a mini-dance party. Each artist will go home with their masterpiece.

This is a great opportunity for parents to shop in Waterbury, grab dinner at a local restaurant, or enjoy some time to yourselves!

Date: December 11

Time: 6:15 – 9pm

Cost: $25 for Residents, $25 for Non-Residents

Waterbury is a community of amazing folks, and we want to thank those who have gone above and beyond with Waterbury Bucks to use at one of our local businesses! Nominations for Waterbury Acts of Kindness can be someone who provided great service at a business, went above and beyond as a volunteer, did an otherwise thankless task, brightened your day, or did something else to help make our town a better place. Nominees can be anyone who lives, works, or positively impacts the Waterbury community. Anyone of any age is eligible to be recognized and anyone is eligible to nominate someone.

Fill out the form with as much information as possible. Submit nominations by November 25th.

On Monday, July 1st, we kicked off the new ArtShop shopping and dining promotion. A wide variety of unique and fun local stores, restaurants, and businesses are putting out the welcome mat and inviting visitors to shop and dine locally.

Similar to the popular Wrap it Up & Win holiday promotion, participating businesses will hand out and stamp ArtShop cards when you make a purchase. Once shoppers collect FOUR stamps on their card, the card is brought to the Revitalizing Waterbury booth on Friday or Saturday during the Arts Fest to receive a prize – a 2023 Waterbury Arts Fest Commemorative Poster. All completed cards that are turned in will win!
