Companion Animal Institute CAI will offer short and ongoing personal and professional development courses, along with a range of research, evaluation, advice and consultancy.

Did you know that there are approximately 35 million companion animals in Australia with around 35% of households including at least one dog, and 25% including at least one cat (http://www.acac.org.au/pet_care.html). Annual consumer expenditure on companion animals is between $AUD7 – 8 billion annually (http://petsaustralia.org/pet-industries/industry-statistics/). Owners (or ‘guardians’) consiste

ntly report deep, lasting and important ties to their animals. Companion Animal Institute is founded by Nik Taylor and Heather Fraser, two senior social science academics with forty years combined experience in education, research and public welfare to humans and animals. From this Institute we hope to offer short and ongoing personal and professional development courses, along with a range of research, evaluation, advice and consultancy services.
