: Ready to venture into the realm of Dragon Blood Trees?

Socotra is a remote and enchanting island located in the Indian Ocean, part of the Republic of Yemen. Known for its surreal and almost alien landscapes, Socotra is often called the “Galapagos of the Indian Ocean” due to its unique and diverse ecosystems. The island is famous for its Dragon’s Blood Trees, which resemble something out of a fantasy novel with their umbrella-shaped canopies and red resin. Socotra’s coastlines are lined with pristine, white sandy beaches, and its interior is adorned with rugged mountains and limestone plateaus. The island is also home to an array of rare and endemic plant and animal species, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With a rich blend of Arabian, African, and Indian cultures, Socotra is a place where time seems to stand still, offering a captivating and unforgettable experience for adventurous travellers.

A few weeks ago Mateusz Wrazidlo (Expedition Botanist)and Dominik Bac (Expedition Skipper) had the privilege and honour to present Expedition Cooperative’s 2022 Arctic Oasis Expedition to Svalbard at the 25th National Meeting of Travellers, Sailors and Mountaineers in Kolosy, Poland. It’s Europes biggest gathering of adventurers, expeditioners and explorers with an estimated 20K visitors attending the presentations over the 3 days.
