☀️Have you ever seen a sunbow?

Sometimes it’s called a sundog or a Whirling Rainbow. No matter what you call it, it’s breathtaking.

During one of our last stops along the Dalton Highway we saw this beautiful sunbow. It’s said that a sunbow is a symbol of personal and spiritual development, protection, and awakening. The perfect thing to see as we embarked upon out Sojourn.

It’s hard to capture the magic. ✨

What’s my favorite mural visited in Salt Lake City?

Not a question I expected to find myself pondering. However a recent tour during highlighted many incredible murals that were just a small sample of the over 240 across the city.

It looks like paradise.

It is.

But in this moment it’s also sadness.
Heartache.
Frustration.
Fear.

It’s so easy to share the beauty and hide everything else.

Normally from me this might be a post reflecting on sustainable travel or gender equity in travel.

Today it’s about me. I’m about to celebrate an anniversary that I’m not excited about. A year of increased migraines likely associated with menopause. Though no one seems to know.

A year of confusion.
Grief.
Loss.
Questions.
Change.

While I often support getting out of your comfort zone and confronting the unknown and seeing it as a place to grow. This feels different.

Just as I was learning to appreciate where I am in my journey; my age, health, career, femininity. It seems it all flipped. I feel like I’m fighting inside my body. Trust feels so difficult.

I feel like the Universe wants me to have this experience so I can one day guide other women on this journey. Today I’m trying to feel gratitude for this beautiful day and less regret for the days of activities I’ve missed on this family trip.

Wherever you are, however you are…sending you love and beauty.

This moment! ✨ ❤️

When I design Sojourns, I spend a lot of time thinking about the traveler experience.
✨How I want them to feel.
✨What I hope they will learn about themselves. ✨How to hold space for them to connect to their true self and honor who they are in the moment.

What I don't spend a lot of time thinking about is the journey I'll go through with them.

In this moment I finally got to feel myself becoming the woman I have wanted to be. I was able to see the way my gifts were supporting the women around me. I felt the most like the version of myself I had longed to be.

Travel is powerful and it can be a beautiful container for growth for everyone involved.

I am so grateful for these experiences and cannot wait to share our next Women's Wilderness and Yoga Retreat with you March 6-11, 2025. We'll travel 63 miles north of the arctic circle to connect with my yoga teacher Mollie Busby and stay at the off-grid yoga retreat Arctic Hive.

It is so hard to see so many balloons for sale on big commercial holidays. Here’s why you might think twice before buying them.

Balloons might seem like a great way to celebrate a special occasion but what happens to them when you are done? If they get loose outside, they can be mistaken for food by wildlife. Their strings can also entangle or strangle wildlife.
