Meet Dr. Krumins this week's featured physician at Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic

SPECIALTY: When meeting Dr. Kenneth Krumins, you can instantly identify with his passion to do great work. “You must love what you do, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing my patients feeling great and getting back to their active lifestyle.” As a knee specialist, he performs knee replacements, revisions, ACL reconstruction, and arthroscopy as well as treatment of lower extremity trauma. Dr. Krumins is an honest team player, humbled to be a partner with the world renowned Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic.

EDUCATION: Dr. Krumins graduated magna cm laude from DePauw University and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and completed his orthopaedic residency at State University of New York in Syracuse. Board certified in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Krumins completed an additional year of sports medicine and knee surgery training under Dr. James Barnett in the J. Allen Lacey, M.D.,Fellowship at Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic.

COMMUNITY: Dr. Krumins has a clear passion for the sports community. As the head team physician at UCF, he expresses a sincere connection with the student athletes. Having been awarded “Sports Medicine Person of the Year” by the Athletic Training Association of Florida, he has gained tremendous respect among those who work alongside him to care for the athletes. He is also team physician for Winter Park High School. Dr. Krumins has found his niche by sharing his expertise with students aspiring to get into the sports medicine. He is a clinical associate professor at UCF and FSU, and the students and his enthusiasm for orthopaedics contagious. In addition, he is the Chairman of Orthopaedics at Winter Park Memorial Hospital and Medical Director of the Florida Hospital Orthopaedic Institute.

PHILOSOPHY: Dr. Krumins’ philosophy is simple—his family always comes first while he maintains a continued commitment to his patients and their care. His wife Sharon is the Medical Team Lead Physician at Walt Disney World. They are proud parents of two sons in college. Dr. Krumins is an avid off shore marlin fisherman, having won several tournaments in recent years.

The Dakeri crew has just returned from a short trip down to Los Suenos and what a great time was had by all. We had great fishing on an overnighter releasing 15 Blue Marlin 1 Striped Marlin and 3 Sailfish all in fifteen hours of fishing .We caught a Pacific Slam on the first day it was the entire crews first one . We cannot thank Don Shumacher and my boys on the SHOE for having us down to make this possible. Now back to getting after some Atlantic Sails!
