Depois do Huffington Post ter escolhido o nosso tour como o melhor que existe em Lisboa, foi a vez do Turismo de Lisboa fazer o mesmo.
Na mais recente edição da sua revista, considera o The Real Lisbon Street Art Tour como "o melhor e mais respeitado tour sobre o tema na capital".

Fresh from being reccomended by the Huffington Post as the best street art tour around, it is time for the Lisbon Tourism Bureau do exactly the same.
On its latest magazine, they consider our tour "the best and most respected guided tour on street art in Lisbon".

Back in the day it was considered a kind of vandalism that made cities dirtier and belittled their prestige, but today graffiti is capturing the global attention of travelers, artists and art critics and fueling a new kind of tourism.

In 2006, Alexandre Farto (VHILS) did a solo show in Lisbon, where he premiered a new phase in his work, mixing spraypaint, acid liquids and stencil work.
He also painted an exterior wall, in the parking space of the warehouse that hosted the exhibition, which can still be seen today during our tour.

Today we are going to write a little bit about our wonderful tour guide!!

Vasco Teixeira Rodrigues discovered what graffiti (and hip hop culture) was all about in 1998, when he saw YOUTH and SEA painting the mythical Belém Hall of Fame. That was when he found out the work that he had been photographing for the last 4 years was made by guys (and girls!) his own age, and with spraypaint!!

Since then, he never left a good wall without doccumentation, building a portfolio that tells a story, the history of Lisbon's graffiti.
His love for the culture made him put together events such as the International Graffiti Meeting of Oeiras, back in 1999, where he invited some of the mega-stars of the time, germans DAIM and LOOMIT, as well as two twins that were virtually unknown in the world of street art by then: OS GEMEOS!.

Other big events followed, bringing to Lisbon OS GEMEOS again in 2001, together with the also twins HOW & NOSM, SWET, TASEK, LOGAN, CAN2, etc.

He has also been the promoter of the Seixal Graffiti event, taking place since 2001 to this day, and making it the only true Annual Graffiti Event in Portugal.

He lived half a decade in London, where he met some of his graffiti heroes, like FUTURA 2000.
