Not weaving, but still art related. Crochet!
In one of our travels earlier this year, I saw this gorgeous cardigan created from crocheted granny squares. It stayed on my mind, and on my return home, I crocheted myself a granny square cardigan. Not as perfect as I wanted it to be, but enough to quench my thirst to create one. I cropped the picture to just feature the granny squares. I show the front, back, side and the wip squares.
And yes, I will wear the cardigan.
And yes, I am still weaving.

I now weave mostly for family, including kitchen towels and blankets for my grandkids. They’re still quite young so their moms need to store their HW linens for them. One day they will have their own homes and hopefully my linens will grace their homes.

But last year, in 2023, I made each of them a fabric book and embroidered the poem Desiderata and I gifted to them last Xmas 2023. It took all of 2023 to do the embroidery and most of December2023 to sew the pages into a fabric book.

Now,
7 months later, I’m sharing the fabric book with you.

Desiderata is a truly beautiful poem.

Finally weaving again. Using the threads in my stash.

Cotton warp, wool weft doubled cuz it’s so thin. Had to figure out what colors in my stash would work.
