Arrested Motion by Swoon. Of all the beautiful and intricate pieces at the Wynwood Walls this one called to me.. maybe it was the drips of pink & turquoise, the florals, or the strong and nurturing all female cast..my bet would be on the last. The Wynwood Walls were created as a way to transform Miami's old warehouse district and the project currently did its job. There are monthly art walks, bars, galleries, and so much more in this pedestrian friendly area. Go check it out and let us know what your favorite piece was!

To get a birds eye view of downtown Miami we took the free above ground tram after walking the city. This is an awesome free service the city provides, take advantage of it when you visit! There are multiple stops covering the financial district, bayside, and ending in the school board area. #305

Exploring Miami with Neil's brothers. First stop: Coral Castle. Had to visit at least one tourist trap and this was ours for the weekend. The entire limestone structure was build by a 100lb man in secrecy.. To this day no one knows how he accomplished this feat.

Today's reminder: Enjoy the little things..in travel & in everyday life! The two of us try to always stay positive and enjoy what's happening to us... Even when we get caught camping in a blizzard, flipping our raft and bodysurfing down category 4 Rapids (ouch), or just doing the dishes.. There is always something to be happy about no matter the size! So stay positive, enjoy the little things, and always explore with zeal!

Cenote Ik Kil is beyond beautiful! It was a special spot for the Mayans, who used it as a religious place to perform sacred rituals. The natural pool is 85ft below ground & 130ft deep. Being right down the road from Chichen Itza it's an amazing spot to stop after a long hot day! You can swim under the vines & let one of the waterfalls drip on you, float with the black catfish, of jump from the high platforms carved into the stone. We chose to do all three! Being here was one of the highlights of our time in the Yucatan and we will definitely be going back!

One thing we loved seeing all around the Yucatan were the classic bugs in every color!

Our Kumballa (aka: Jeep) away from home. When visiting Mexico it's a good idea to work on you manual driving skills! Many of the cars for rent, even in the more touristy areas, are stick shift and renting an automatic will limit your options.

Adventure is out there, go find it! One of the main things we wanted to do in the Yucatan was to explore some cenotes. Thankfully one of our cousins knew just the place! We ventured to the little pueblo of Homun and hired a guide from the side of the road (our cousin lives here and she recommended hiring him. Don't worry, it's not expensive and will make for an easy day since they know where to go). He brought us to 5 cenotes in the area, each unique and amazingly beautiful. We jumped off of platforms, swam in a dark cave, and even floated in a healing cenote where we rubbed limestone all over our bodies! Amazing!

After Quinta Roo/Cozumel we made our way to Merida the capital & largest ciudad in Yucatan. (~a 5hr bus ride away). The city is known for its historical buildings, rich culture, and of course it's food! The cathedral shown here dates back to 1598 and sits in the middle of the city.

The second stop after La Cielo is the Columbia Reef. Here snorkelers and scuba divers drift from shallow reef to deep open water with coral atolls riddled with fish, turtles, and crabs.

Cielo (the sky) is an amazing.. If not the best thing to see on Cozumel Island. You take a short boat ride to where the color of the water matches the sky, then it's time to jump in and snorkel above the starfish. Everyone in the family had an amazing time! ⭐️

A beat up Jeep, good music, and beer to go.. This is definitely the best way to see Cozumel! The entire island can be driven in about an hour, but give yourself extra time to stop at the reefs and beautiful beaches!
