Lovely family from New Zealand via Australia this morning for a Doctor Who themed tour with a junior yet superior aficionado of all things Gallifrey on board. A worthy connoisseur of all things Whovian. Most impressive. 👍🇬🇧🇳🇿🇦🇺🙌🙌
Lovely sunny day out in town today with Kristen, Phil, David and Dylan from Chicago. Nice folks. One of those crisp cold bright winter days that you expect and hope for at the outset of a New Year.

Last year I clocked up over five million steps. I think all in all did a good job. Lots to look forward to in the coming year. I want to make things.

And that’s a wrap for 2024. To Prisco and Gina today, to the many scores of wonderful guests that I’ve hosted this year from fab families to curious children, attorneys, judges, surgeons, medics, soldiers, Olympians, musicians, heroes, dreamers, intrepid explorers and a couple of royals, many of whom I remember very fondly and consider as both treasured clients and friends, I say a heartfelt “thank you”. And to those I am yet to meet, I look forward to welcoming you to the finest city in earth. Onward! 👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸 ,

A pleasure spending four hours with Andrea and her family from Canada yesterday exploring some favourite pubs of mine and sharing assorted stories. We ended at a pub once frequented by George Orwell author of the dystopian classic 1984. Despite this all seemed rather jolly nonetheless. 👍🇬🇧🇨🇦Canada

Great to wrap up today with Cindy who I’ve nearly lost count of the number of times I’ve hosted terrific tours for over the past three years or so. Today we popped into the Tower and headed to Greenwich after an evening tour yesterday with some of her friends flying in to London for some Christmas lights and festive fun.

Stormy out in London today and so thanks to Greg, Willa and April for being great guests despite what the weather had to throw at us. We covered many highlights and paid a visit to Dr Johnson’s house where he composed his great canonical English dictionary. Picture is his desk in snap 2.

With my friend who has a new show on at . I thank him for spending some time to talk me around his exhibition. Really interesting to hear his very frank explanation of the work he’s done which really leaves you wanting to let your eyes dig deeper into the work. There’s no pomp with Peter. Like Josef Liesler, who I grew up with on the walls it’s something of a prop to the imagination to me. Gets one thinking laterally. Details of the show if you swipe 👉. Well done Peter. 👏👏

Showing people through the streets of this city is an honour and a privilege. When I first started out, it was quite simply to enjoy the benefits of extra exercise and for the satisfaction of sharing my love of history, culture, architecture and the many other wonderful riches that this city offers. Having been delighted by the many kind and generous words of my happy guests, I decided that it was time to create the best offering of its kind.
