My name is Kenny. I am a husband to a lovely wife and a father to a wonderful son. I used to work as a maintenance man at an apartment complex; I fixed furnaces and AC units, I shoveled snow in the winter, and I swept the street in the summer. I enjoy helping people. Everything changed when my wife and I had our first child. I resigned from my job to become a stay-at-home dad so that my wife can c
ontinue to go to school. It was the best decision I've made in my life. I became an inventor. I always knew that I wanted to help people. I believe that if there is one thing wrong in this world, it is that we don’t extend our hands far enough to help those in need. What I have accomplished in my life so far was achieved by helping others. My ambition is to shape the next generation of children. This project will focus on raising awareness of the importance of family time. I believe the most important lesson isn't taught at school. It is to be taught in the family room where we interact with each other or at the dinner table where we eat together. In this modern world of technology and social media, we have lost quality time together to video games and television. Kids have their own iPads, cell phones, and laptops. Facebook and text messages have gradually replaced real interpersonal communication. This is what going to happen: we are going to bring back Family Board Games Nights. Mom and Dad will make some popcorn and the family will gather around to spend more time with each other. Right Step Board Games can help. Our products focus on using exciting board games that help kids practice math, memorization, and language skills in order to best their opponents. There are already thousands of board games in existence, but our board games are different because they offer a unique challenge that the entire family can enjoy, and the rules of the game are easy to understand. For children of all ages, these board games can help build the skills needed for logical thinking and creative problem solving. Our board games are simple to understand, yet exciting enough to draw the interest of kids and their parents. Best of all, our board games help familiarize kids with basic math problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. They'll gain a stronger understanding of mathematics while using numbers to get a specific result, which can help kids to not rely on a calculator. Our board games will also help kids create words out of letters. Similar to the game of Scrabble, the main function of this is to help kids learn to take mental notes, to remember what goes on in the game, and thus improve their memory. Most of all, it can teach them to think creatively while playing the game. I remember when I was a kid, I picked up the car from a Monopoly game and pretend to drive it around the city, or I would pick up a knight from a chess set and pretend he was riding a horse into battle. With technology taking over, it seems that the imaginations of children have been employed much less these days. They are less often challenged to be creative and have few positive outlets to strengthen their imaginative abilities. In these days of technological profusion, we no longer have to dig up the worm ourselves and string it to the line. Just as we have no need to think constructively and become actively engaged in our experiences, we are now having the fish cooked for us and brought out on a silver platter. This lifestyle can condition the mind of a child to render them unable to think creatively. That alone is so much more harmful than the excessive amount of violence that goes on in many video games. That is our selling point: fun, educational, affordable board games that can get kids to learn math and English in a whole new way, while providing parents with a healthy activity to do with their kids. We will have three games when the company launches and I will continue to develop more games as the company grows. Games developed in the future will focus on teaching kids about chemistry and biology, but in order to do that, I will need funding to start the process. I need investors to believe in my idea. Most of all, I need you to start spreading the word about this project. Let’s get the parents on board and let’s bring back the Family Board Games Night. Below are the three games that will be available at launch, and if you help back this project, I will send you these board games as a "thank you" for your support. Even if you don't have the money to help fund this project, write to me and help me get the word out to others. I will send you the games at no cost to you if I can get enough funding from others to make this project a reality.
