The Harvey’s Lake Beach committee is excited to announce we have secured a contractor for the flood repairs with a completion date of June 1! We are excited to work with Kirk Fenoff and Son for this important project!

Update: today’s group of volunteers completed all the items on our “to do” list! We cannot thank them enough for the amazing job they did!!

Somehow this seed was “brought” to the beach with the flooding… a seed of hope!

Tomorrow morning (10/7) we will be having a beach meeting at 9, at the beach, immediately following we will begin some clean up with a group of volunteers that Howard Gaston has set up! If any other community members are interested in joining we would gladly accept the help!!

The beach is in need of a large, powerful, shop vac. Our building is ready to be cleaned, we have scooped out the mud and it is all dried. If anyone has one we can borrow please let us know.

There will be a church group coming in October to begin clearing debris and raking we will post a date as soon as we know and will be looking for all the help we can get.

We are still at the mercy of the state on the repairs, that is all I can give for an update at this point.

Beach Update: we received information from the state on our repairs. While we still have several more meetings and permitting to finalize our plan, we can officially say we will NOT be open for the remainder of this season. The permitting process is a minimum of 60 days and then after that there is a 30 day public notice period, 90 days is past our season! We know this is NOT what everyone was hoping for but if we want to reopen at all there are regulations that must be followed. We hope you will all join us next year, we are looking forward to it!!! Remember please message a beach committee member with any questions or concerns!!

For those wondering, we can’t say for sure but it is very likely we will not be opening back up until next year. The beach sustained substantial damage from the flooding and in order to do any repairs we have to work with the State Shoreline protection. We have met with them and are in the early stages of determining what will be allowable repairs as well as permitting for those repairs. The Beach Committee is so saddened by the loss of this resource for our community. We are working diligently to get it back but all things take time. Please feel free to reach out to a Beach Committee member with any questions or concerns!

So today’s news… Reminder to please stay off the beach property, especially out of the buildings. We need to be able to leave them
