Upon arrival at AC Hotel Miami Beach we were greeted by a valet named Luigi. He was personable and very friendly. He explained that this hotel does not offer self parking and that we must use valet parking or find parking on the street. The cost for valet parking are as follows:
Overnight SUV - $55 + $3.29 parking tax + tip
Overnight Sedans - $47 $3.29 parking tax + tip
Visitors - $29 + $3.29 parking tax + tip
Luigi gave me a valet ticket suggested I take a photo of it just in case I lose it. There is a number on the ticket you can call or text 10 minutes before departure and valet will have your car ready and waiting for you upon exit.
As a Platinum Marriott Bonvoy Member I usually don't have to check-in at the counter. I typically check-in through the Marriott Bonvoy app and provided a mobile key. Unfortunately, this hotel does not offer this service. I called prior to my arrival and spoke to Tony who advised me of this.
My check in process went smoothly Emily advised me of all of the amenities that were available. Such as two rental bikes, two Beach chairs, a yoga class on the beach from 7am -8am, and complimentary towels at the pool. Unfortunately, the rooftop pool area was closed due to the weather. This hotel charges a daily amenities fee of $25, which should have been waived since I didn't get to use any of the amenities. Or at least offered Marriott points as compensation. Also, there is a $3.50 goods and services daily fee. Sodas cost $7 and a bag of chips $5, I would suggest finding a Walmart or Grocery store to grab some snacks.
As a platinum elite member I am eligible for a free room upgrade if available, 4 p.m. late check out, and a welcome gift that consistsof my choice of points, breakfast offering, or amenity. The choices varies by brand. I wasn't offered a room upgrade, nor did I ask if one was available because the standard room is just as nice they just don't have a balcony. I was given a late check-out time of 2pm so that was great.
The hotel has a lounge area (bar/food). There is breakfast offered in the morning for a fee.
My room was nice and clean. The bed were very comfortable with a great view. The hotel has a modern feel and is well kept. The beach is conveniently across the street. This is where the yoga class is held. There are great restaurants nearby. I wouldn't say they are in walking distance but definitely close by car.
Overall my stay was decent considering the weather.
