TMG has been working with VDOT to relocate and run power to a repurposed 20-year-old communications building in Short Pump, VA. This project was awarded as a job order under our VA Department of General Services Central Virginia JOC contract and is on schedule to be completed by the end of the month!

On June 5th, TMG attended the SMPS DC’s Summer of Fun Celebration and Awards event. We were honored to receive the 2024 SMPS Marketing Communications Merit award for our enhanced website design in collaboration with Clockwork Design Group, Inc AND the People’s Choice Award, an award determined by votes! Many thanks to everyone who took the time to vote.

TMG was honored to be part of the Falls Church Education Foundation (FCEF) 20th Anniversary Gala and Auction on May 17, 2024, at the Washington Golf and County Club in Arlington, VA. A record number of supporters were in attendance and proceeds from the gala will support scholarship programs, training grants, student wellness resources and much more.

TMG’s Jonathan, Dory, and Jason along with his wife Megan attended the event. Jonathan and Dory (pictured), and Jason completed the Oak Street Elementary School Entrance Design Build project for Falls Church City Public Schools and were delighted to be at the Gala!

TMG participated in the Dulles Airport Job and Career Fair on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Dulles International Airport. The annual event included over 40 employers and close to 600 attendees this year. The fair highlighted employment opportunities with the aviation industry and airport operations.

On Friday, TMG’s Brittany, Datiece, Ali, and Nancy attended the Md. Washington Minority Companies Association’s (MWMCA) 21st Annual Spring Breakfast Meeting and Business Showcase Expo. The event honored the 2024 award recipients for their work promoting supplier diversity inclusion. The showcase involved dozens of local businesses and allowed TMG to connect with several minority subcontractors.

This event raises awareness and donations to assist in the research of finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. TMG was honored to be part of this special day!

TMG participated in the Fairhill Elementary School Career Fair in Fairfax, Virginia on Friday, April 26th. Over forty businesses were in attendance to introduce students in grades kindergarten through sixth to a variety of career fields. Many students stopped by the TMG booth to learn more about the construction industry and of course to admire the Lego display!

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, TMG’s Ben and Chichi attended the Part-Time and Summer Job Fair hosted by Rock Ridge High School in Ashburn, VA. The event was open to all Loudoun County high school students interested in adding work experience to their resumes. It was a great afternoon with a large turnout!

TMG was proud to attend a special ground-breaking ceremony held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, for our McNaughton Field Concession Stand project. Members of the Woodlawn Little League, the Fairfax County Park Authority, and other local community representatives joined TMG’s Luisa and Erin at the event, which was met with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm! Construction is expected to be completed later this fall.

Founded in 1992 by Tanya and Joe Matthews, TMG is women-owned and led. As a special touch, Tanya gifted each of the women with a lei, imported for this special day from her native Hawaii.

The Myers-Lawson School of Construction (MLSoC) Career Fair was held last week in Blacksburg, VA on February 21st at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center. The event serves as an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to interact with representatives from the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. TMG’s Ben, Simone, and Philip were proud to represent TMG once again!

The TMG Annual Team Conference took place on Monday, February 19th and Tuesday, February 20th at the National Conference Center in Leesburg, VA. This annual conference supports the training and development of TMG employees. The two-day event was packed with valuable information consisting of keynote speakers from industry experts, presentations from TMG team members, and much more. It was a successful event and a great team bonding experience!

This week, the Leesburg Regional office volunteered with Women Giving Back, an organization based in Sterling, VA, dedicated to helping women and children in crisis receive essentials such as clothing. The TMG team worked in the newly expanded warehouse by assembling shelving units to store pantry items and diaper donations. They also moved furniture and sorted new clothing contributions. Great job, TMG team!

TMG Construction and its job site safety programs were honored by the ABC Metro Washington Chapter with its Diamond Award. Given as part of its Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program, the Diamond Award is the highest-level recognition offered by this national construction industry association. Companies receiving the STEP Diamond award are 680% safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average!

TMG’s Falls Church office recently held a cereal drive supporting the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). A goal was set to collect 50 boxes of cereal and between the Falls Church, Leesburg and Riverdale offices, the goal was reached! TMG was excited to donate multiple boxes of this high demand item and give back to those in need.

Last week, TMG’s resident JOC expert and VP of Operations, Jason Lynch, traveled to Phoenix, AZ to teach a Certified Job Order Contracting Professional (CJP) class for the Center for JOC Excellence (CJE). The class is a three day event for participants to learn more about level setting the standard for JOC. Great job Jason and way to represent TMG!
