If you are looking for a good hike, check out Mt. Hakken (Hakkenzan). About a 40 minute hike to the top. The top does get a little narrow so not for the faint hearted! The top offers beautiful views over the area and southern Sapporo. Best time to visit is in autumn!

Mermaid Coffee Roasters is a nice coffee shop located in Sapporo on the 1st block of the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade. It has two floors as well as outside seating which faces directly onto the arcade. It is a popular spot and you can either enjoy your coffee indoors or get take away. Mermaid Coffee Roasters is just across from Soseigawa Park which is a nice place to sit and relax in Sapporo.

There is only one burger restaurant in Toya and it is Hydune. It is a very popular spot to grab a burger whether to eat in, or to get some take away and enjoy a lunch down by the lake. The staff are very friendly and can speak English as well which is a bonus.

36 STREET BAR
Foreign friendly bar along route 36. It’s on the ground floor with large windows so you can see in and see if its busy or not. Usually busy in the later hours of the night with a young crowd. They have beer on tap 🍺 plus cocktails, highballs are good here, wine, and Shochu. Good vibe here so worth checking out. Friendly staff. This is a smoking bar 🚬 Good for small parties. You can also rent out the whole bar if you want to have a big party!

You can’t get much fresher seafood then at a seafood market! Ta Ke E Sushi is located in Sapporo and is in the Nijo Market. The market is in central Sapporo across from the Tanuki Koji Shopping arcade. There are a few very small restaurants here where sightseers and locals alike can go shopping for seafood and sample some fresh produce.

Seikarou is located in the popular large shopping complex in Sapporo, named Factory. Seikarou is a small 'anman' take out restaurant in the food court area of Factory. Anman is a soft steamed hot bun filled with either sweet or savory ingredients. Namely minced pork fillings or sweet red bean paste. At Seitarou, the most popular anman seems to be the spicy miso pork bun!

This weekend saw the annual Yosakoi Soran Festival. Some of the streets are closed off and teams compete with music, dance and costumes. Definitely a must see while in Sapporo!

Darts ＆ Dj Sound Bar Honey Bunny is one of the many small bars that can be found scattered throughout Susukino, Sapporo. The bar is made up of a small seating area that can be turned into a very small event space, and a bright red counter top for the punters. It is a late night bar and holds live DJ events. The sign out the front, "Our house wine is Jägermeister" sums up this bar perfectly. It's kind of a random place that sees a lot of characters come through its doors.

This chain is nationwide and was founded back in 1960. There are around eight hundred stores nationwide. Yellow Hat caters to automobiles and offers services in car repairs and car goods. If you are looking for anything to upgrade your car or any goods for your interior, you can find it all at Yellow Hat.

Takoyaki & Highball
There are two Takoyaki & Highball bars in Sapporo and they can both be found in the Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade. Delicious, cheap and fun! Enjoy some fantastic takoyaki dishes with a variety of toppings. Wash it down with cold highball. They have outside seating as well!
