Ever thought about taking a solo trip, only to question the safety of this venture?

I get it.

Stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t exactly a walk in the park unless, of course, you’re taking a solo stroll on a Caribbean beach with a clear and sober mind.

And let’s be real, traveling alone as a woman comes with questions, mostly along the lines of:

🆘 Will I be safe?
😔 Will I get lonely?
👀 Who’s going to watch my bag when I need a bathroom break?

But here’s the thing, solo travel is like the ultimate main character energy moment.

❌No compromises.
❌No “where do you want to eat?” debates.
❌No waiting for someone else to get their vacation days approved.

Just you, doing exactly what you want, when you want, and realizing you’re way more capable than you gave yourself credit for.

And it doesn’t have to be some epic, multi-country expedition.
Maybe it’s just a spontaneous weekend getaway at a luxury hotel where you don’t have to worry about cooking a thing and can finally dig into that book that’s been on your nightstand for months.

Alcohol isn’t the problem…

It’s your relationship with alcohol.

I’m sure I’ll receive some backlash for this statement, but it’s the truth.

Quitting the booze is easier than dealing with why it took so much residence in your life.

While resorts and cruise lines that feature quality non-alcoholic beverages are helpful in staying sober during travel, your mindset about alcohol is the solid foundation you need to really enjoy your travels.

That’s why I always suggest that your first alcohol free vacation include:

🧘‍♀️Meditation
📚Great Quit Lit reads
🚶‍➡️Travel companions who abstain from alcohol as well.

I’m a firm believer that alcohol is toxic to a lot of individuals - myself included - but in reality alcohol isn’t going anywhere.

We just need to view how we deal with situations where alcohol is present and where people indulge.

Best advice - if you’re not ready to deal with these situations, remove yourself.

But remember - this is not a plug (well kinda), having a travel advisor who lives a sober lifestyle will definitely know the best spots to avoid overindulgence.

Let me share a little tale with you.

So, I had a chat with my Business Development Manager from a breathtaking new resort in the Caribbean. The topic? Their non-alcoholic drink options! 🍹

Guess what? It was Mocktail Week, and their menu was filled with stunning zero-proof beauties! They had premium concoctions made with top-shelf brands like Seedlip and Lyre’s. You can imagine my excitement, right? 😍

I was in awe and asked her if these amazing drinks were going to become a part of their regular menu. Her response was, “Our guests don’t really ask for such drinks.” I was taken aback. 😲

I explained to her that perhaps guests don’t ask for these drinks because they aren’t usually on the menu. So, I proposed an idea - let’s track the mocktail sales for the week.

Fast forward to last Friday, my inbox lit up with an email from her. The mocktails were a roaring success! 😃 She even admitted that she regretted initially dismissing the idea.

The money that businesses leave on the table because they don’t realize that the initial “trend” of Mindful Drinking is actually here to stay is insane🤯

The moral? Never underestimate the power of a quality non-alcoholic beverage. It provides inclusivity for those who abstain from alcohol, and they provide a nice profit for the property.

What You Need to Know to Book Our Booze Free in Bermuda Cruise…

Navigating the waters of the cruise line booking process can be a bit daunting if you don’t cruise often or if you’re a first time cruiser.

🛳️ Norwegian Cruise Line makes their money mainly off the sale of their cabins based on double occupancy. If you choose to travel solo - you’ll get a discounted rate, but only by a few hundred dollars.

🛳️ So we suggest if the price tag is too high as a solo traveler, try to find a friend or family member to join you on the cruise. Can’t think of one? We can help match you to a person who is traveling solo as well!

A group of like minded people means they share similar interests especially when it comes to an alcohol free lifestyle.

Alcohol Free. Sober. Sober-curious. Zebra-striping.

With all the terminology floating around the Mindful Drinking Movement, what is the definition of these phrases and which category do you fall under in terms of your relationship to alcohol?

📋 According to an article in NCSolutions, 49% of Americans are trying to drink less alcohol in 2025 while 25%,1 in 4 Americans, identify as non-drinkers, and 58% plan to try a non-alcoholic beverage.

So is the hospitality industry responding to the demands of its alcohol-free constituents?

✈️ While some say that the travel industry is slow to accommodate its alcohol free consumers, I’m a glass half full kind of gal.

🌴 Properties like in Aruba remain the island’s premier resort in terms of luxury, quality and service. Ewald Biemans, owner of the luxury property, enlisted the help of a dietician to craft his mocktails which happen to be first on the menu at the prestigious resort.

While I look at this as significant progress, I know we have a long way to go in terms of universal equality across the playing field.

Packing Tips to Help You Pack Like a Pro The anticipation of a fabulous vacation is euphoric, but the anxiety of packing the perfect outfits - and making them fit in your luggage - can be a daunting task. A few tips to ease this anxiety: 🧳Place heavy items at the base - keep heavier items such as shoes at the wheeled end of your suitcase. This helps to keep the bag stable when upright, and stops your delicates from getting flattened. 🧳Use packing cubes - compartmentalizing items such as workout wear, socks and underwear, and oddly shaped items, help them fit neatly into these gems. Skinny NA RTDs fit perfectly as well! They’re stackable, so you won’t lose valuable space in your bag. 🧳Avoid overpacking - if you are headed to warm weather, chances are you will be in your bathing suit for a majority of the time. Suits, cover ups and a few dressy items for dinner are all you need! 🧳Carry on supplies - I always advise clients to back a bathing suit, toiletries and any items they will need in case their luggage is delayed. ☀️Thinking all islands are the same? Every island is unique, and just because you've seen one doesn't mean you've seen them all and there's nothing left to explore. To assume that would mean missing out on so much! 🏨 Staying at only big all-inclusive hotels Bigger and more well-known hotel chains are only the start. There are so many great, lesser-known properties, boutique hotels, and villas. But don't rule out the AI properties. Club Med AIs are packed with activities like daily fitness classes and snorkeling. 🏖️ Not exploring beyond the resort You're missing out on so many great cultural experiences, delicious local food, and the opportunity to try new things if you're only sticking to the resort. There are lots of ways to explore — self-guided tours, group tours and private tours and experiences. Check out a local restaurant such as Door No.4 in the Caymans who just recently upgraded their food and beverage menu - new delicious NA beverages included! 🗓️ Only visiting in high season Just because a certain period is a "good" time to visit a place doesn't always mean it's the "best" time for you. You can't go wrong visiting the Caribbean in high season (January to May). How Hotels and Resorts Benefit When They Include Zero Free Offerings… Let’s face it. It’s not the food and beverage bill where hotels make their biggest profits; it’s the cost of the rooms themselves. But what some properties don’t understand is that by offering a few custom, curated zero free beverages and a few decent NA wines that they invite a whole new demographic to the table: the sober, sober-curious, and a variety of other non drinkers. As a travel advisor who specializes in alcohol free travel - and an avid traveler myself - I look for the properties who focus on quality in their food and beverage selection. Do I not book clients at properties if they don’t offer these locations? If I find a resort with the same quality accommodations AND zero free beverages, then I book the latter. As I’ve said in the past, the luxury brands get it; they hire mixologists to curate their beverage menu which adds more value and choice for their patrons, but the smaller properties who don’t have the budget for a mixologist can still add quality NA beverages to their menus by simply having bar staff that know how to craft a cocktail. Writing is an important part of my life. That’s why I entered the field of education where I taught English Literature, Creative Writing and Public Speaking for over a decade as a way to educate others about the power of the written word.

Eventually, I earned my second Masters’ Degree and assumed the role of School Librarian for the Harpursville School District. During this time I also owned my own travel business where I created and managed trips for almost fifteen years. I also created content for my social media channels as a way to promote my business.

When the COVID-19 pandemic occurred and travel seized, I began to travel the island of Aruba with my Bitmoji, which garnered the attention of Ishwar Daryanani, the director of the Aruba Tourist Channel. I soon joined his team as a Social Media Content Creator and Manager where I would create social media content, conduct and write interviews, and build followers and engagement for their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts. It was then that I decided I would like to focus on my own part of the world, the Southern Tier of New York.

I have since obtained my LLC, and plan to offer my services as a content creator and manager for area businesses to help them grow their business and to illustrate all that social media has to offer as a business tool.
