Have you ever heard the quote, “The person who loves the journey will go further than the person who loves the destination.”

I’m not sure I necessarily agree, especially if the destination is Aruba and the property is the Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort or the swoon worthy Yorkshire's Grantley Hall.

Google is a great resource to start researching that getaway, but…

It’s not the be-all and end-all...

I spend hours and hours per day planning and coordinating trips for clients.

What I know goes beyond what you’ll find in a Google search. Travel documentation - what you need before and after you book!

That’s because I’m taking in new information about the destinations I specialize in every single day as I plan.

I’m having conversations with colleagues and connecting with my partners in the destinations.

Google doesn’t always know when a resort is under construction or if the rooms are a little bit dated.

That’s not to say you can’t rely on it.

But if you’d much rather:

My journey in the travel industry began over 18 years ago...

But my real travel journey began just over a year ago, when I realized that alcohol was no longer a “fun factor” in my life.

With this realization came a new opportunity for my business as well.

I knew I loved to travel, and that those travels would now look different.

I knew I wasn’t alone and that others who abstain from alcohol love to travel also, but aren’t aware of how this would look in a society focused on the consumption of alcohol.

Part of my job is to explore properties and destinations where the main focus is on an immersion in culture and the beauty of the landscape - Locations that aren’t endless booze fests.

My knowledge of travel and my connections in the industry allow me to guide my clients to the best properties for vacations not centered on the party scene.

Here’s an uncomfortable truth about travel planning.

Everyone totally underestimates exactly how long it’ll take to plan a well-coordinated trip, and they forget what their time is actually worth.

Let’s run some math.

The average trip takes about 20 hours to plan. That includes researching, narrowing down choices, booking all of the details, and then filing away everything so you can find it for the actual trip.

Now let’s say your time is billed at $60/hour - that’s $1,200. That’s a decent chunk of change. Now if the idea of delegating all that research, planning and booking sounds more appealing than spending $1,200 of your time, you’ve come to the right place!
