My journey in travel began over 18 years ago...

But my real travel journey began just over a year ago, when I realized that alcohol was no longer a “fun factor” in my life.

With this realization came a new opportunity for my business as well.

I knew I loved to travel, and that those travels would now look different.

I knew I wasn’t alone and that others who abstain from alcohol love to travel also, but aren’t aware of how this would look in a society focused on the consumption of alcohol.

Part of my job is to explore properties and destinations where the main focus is on an immersion in culture and the beauty of the landscape - Locations that aren’t endless booze fests.

My knowledge of travel and my connections in the industry allow me to guide my clients to the best properties for vacations not centered on the party scene.

I’ve been meeting with destinations, properties and cruise lines for the past two weeks inquiring how they are taking Mindful Drinking into consideration.

Hey Foodies 👋 How can you make sure you don‘t miss out on the best food spots on your next big trip?

It will all come down to a few key factors:

➡️ What comes to mind when you think of a great food experience?

Is it indulging in gourmet meals? Exploring local cuisine? Or are you more of a hands-on person who would love to learn how to cook traditional dishes? Decide what you like so you can prioritize it in your itinerary.

➡️ How long is your trip?

Traveling while abstaining from alcohol just got a whole lot easier…

When I vett my properties for alcohol free travel, I make sure that I use my contacts in the travel industry.

On a recent trip to Turks and Caicos, I connected with the beverage manager at Club Med Turkoise and requested non alcoholic wine -which they provided. Coupled with my cans of Buzzkill Wines sparkling beverages that I packed, I was comfortable with my choices.

What stood out to me, however, was the bartender that I encountered who made amazing mocktails. Without zero free spirits at the resort, the quality of bartending skills is imperative.

He tasted each concoction he made to ensure quality. Discussing his skills with the bar manager, I expressed that if their bartenders were trained to make quality cocktails they would have the skills to make all beverages of a quality standard.

Message to businesses: there is a whole clientele of NA drinkers ready to spend their money with you if you provide quality service and acceptable NA beverages.

No, we don’t want soda, juice or water. We’re adults.

🕒 While Cancun boasts some of the most beautiful resorts and beaches, people often shy away from them due to the amount of Sargassum (seaweed) the area encounters.

But some exciting news in the industry is that the Mexican Navy is installing anti-sargassum barriers along the popular beaches of Quintana Roo!

Also, the addition of beach sweepers and other ocean vessels have been implemented in the removal of this stinky plant!

Planning to pack your hair dryer or flat iron for that trip? Read this first! 👇 Basically the U.S. and a few other countries are on a different power strength than the rest of the world. If you plug your hair dryer, straightening brush, flat iron or curling iron into a plug in a country with a different voltage you can short out your styling tool, blow the outlet and even start a fire (Yikes!). So what's a girl or guy to do? ✅ First thing's first, know your voltage: 110v in the U.S.A., Canada, Mexico, most Caribbean nations, some Asian countries, Central and South America. 240v Europe, some Asian countries, Africa and Australia. ✅ Second, you need a CONVERTER, not an adapter. Adapters are small, plug-like things that you put over the plug of your device to change the shape of the plug to match the country you're in. ⚡️ But note it doesn't change the voltage. Buying dual voltage styling tools or using a converter is a good option. If you're a frequent traveler across the pond to places like Europe and Asia, investing in 240v styling tools is another option. The Hotel Hierarchy Ever heard of it? I didn't either until I came into the travel industry. You won’t know it on the surface, but where you book and who you book your hotel with matters. Tier 1: Book with a travel agent who has industry connections. Tier 2: Book directly with the hotel on their website Tier 3: Book using Amex or another credit card Tier 4: Book online (Expedia, etc) Why does any of this matter? If you like getting surprise room upgrades, spa credits, and other special perks, you’re going to want to book with a travel agent, and if you want overall great service, you’re definitely going to want to be in tier 2. Tier 3 and 4 is where things get dicey — no refunds, no perks, getting bumped if the hotel is overbooked. Writing is an important part of my life. That’s why I entered the field of education where I taught English Literature, Creative Writing and Public Speaking for over a decade as a way to educate others about the power of the written word.

Eventually, I earned my second Masters’ Degree and assumed the role of School Librarian for the Harpursville School District. During this time I also owned my own travel business where I created and managed trips for almost fifteen years. I also created content for my social media channels as a way to promote my business.

When the COVID-19 pandemic occurred and travel seized, I began to travel the island of Aruba with my Bitmoji, which garnered the attention of Ishwar Daryanani, the director of the Aruba Tourist Channel. I soon joined his team as a Social Media Content Creator and Manager where I would create social media content, conduct and write interviews, and build followers and engagement for their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts. It was then that I decided I would like to focus on my own part of the world, the Southern Tier of New York.

I have since obtained my LLC, and plan to offer my services as a content creator and manager for area businesses to help them grow their business and to illustrate all that social media has to offer as a business tool.
