Another successful tennis trip. We had ladies from Pensford Tennis Club only this time.

The tennis trip itinerary was similar to the previous trips, combining tennis on red clay in two different clubs with visiting several coastal and inland hilltop towns as well as trying out the local cuisine and wine.

The addition to this year’s programme was a trip to famous amphitheatre in P**a, dinner and huge pancakes for desert. Fish dinner in Rovinj was also superb.

After playing tennis, the masseuse was at hand to get us all relaxing and ready for more tennis.

The weather temperature was perfect, 20 to 23 degrees. Despite the heavy clouds and a bit of rain we managed to play all our teenis on Saturday & Sunday. In total 11 hours of tennis from fri to tue.

We had a mini van with the driver again so did not have to think about getting to/from the airport, or who can or can’t drink! It really is so much more enjoyable when you don’t have to think about all those things.

The next trip could be in the spring or autumn 2019, depending on the interest.

Dear all,
We have organised few more tennis trips to Croatia from 29th September to 9th October 2017. First group comprising of players from Richmond Lawn tennis club and their friends and the second group involving tennis players from Pensford Tennis Club (most of them came last October as well).
The tennis trip itinerary was very similar to the previous trips, combining tennis on red clay in two different clubs with visiting several coastal and inland hilltop towns as well as trying out the local cuisine and wine.
The only major difference was that we had more time for sampling different wines at home, relaxing around the swimming pool area, getting the massages done, walking around and searching for mushrooms in the nearby forest.
The weather was perfect, 20 to 23 degrees. Lots of drinks/coffees and lunch meals outside on the terraces and in the evening, meals by the fire places.
Sitting around the fire pit and chatting away was also very relaxing.
We had a mini van with the driver again so did not have to think about getting to/from the airport, or who can or can’t drink! It really is so much more enjoyable when you don’t have to think about all those things.
All in all, would like to believe the ladies had a great time (there was 1 men) and hope in the future we will have few more men.

Please note it is a 4 rather then the usual 3 night stay so there will be extra time for relaxation. 7 people have booked their flights now but there are still spaces available if you are interested. Great food, good wine and plenty of tennis 😉

Dear all,
We have organised another tennis trip to Croatia from 14-17th October 2016. This time all players came from Pensford Tennis Club.

The tennis trip itinerary was more or less the same as on the previous trips, combining tennis on red clay in two different clubs with visiting several coastal and inland hilltop towns as well as trying out the local cuisine and wine.

The weather did not look promising at all once we landed in Venice. Closer we got to the house, better it was. (warmer then London though) Even though the rain stopped on time for our tennis, the outside courts were unplayable. Luckily, the indoor courts were free and we were able to book them. Friday night was spent in a cosy restaurant by fire.

The following morning, again even though the weather was fine, apart from one heavy shower, all courts were still unplayable. We again managed to get indoor courts but only for an hour.
We did not waste any time so headed to the truffle festival and afterwards to the prosciutto festival before going to Porec for a lovely fish dinner.

On Sunday we had great weather so caught up with tennis. By the end of the session, everyone was falling apart. One could not walk, another could not serve, third one could not run, fourth, had a sore back, fifth was not feeling well the day before, sixth could understand the drills, seventh whacked her leg badly when entering the mini van after the dinner the night before (will blame it on slippery surface). Only Cathy was in shape. That was her 4th trip so I am sure she new how to prepare herself physically and mentally for the trip.

We had a mini van with the driver again so did not have to think about getting to/from the airport, or who can or can’t drink! It really is so much more enjoyable when you don’t have to think about all those things.
All in all, would like to believe the ladies had a great time. Feel free to speak to them to find out about all the little details. We met some funny people, sung few songs around the fire pit and had a good lough.

Dear all,
We have organised another tennis trip to Croatia from 22-25th May 2016. We had players from Pensford & Richmond Lawn Tennis Club as well as couple from Norfolk.
The tennis trip itinerary was more or less the same as on the previous trips, combining tennis on red clay in two different clubs with visiting several coastal and inland hilltop towns as well as trying out the local cuisine and wine. In addition to our usual itinerary, we went to Rovinj http://www.rovinj.co/ also known as Little Venice. Some of us spent a fabulous afternoon in Venice too as we took the late flight back to London.
For the first time we had a mixed luck with the weather (warmer then London though) but still managed to play as much tennis as planned. It is amazing how it rained on the coast in Umag but only 10 miles inland it did not. We now know for sure that we can do lots of other things if in the future we do get rained off.
Tennis players from the local tennis club where we played joined us on one of the sessions and together with the two coaches played various games. One of those players is the current president of the Istrian Tennis federation.
We had mini bus with the driver again so did not have to think about getting to/from the airport, or who can or can’t drink! It was the time of the year for picking and eating wild asparagus which was great fun.

We have organised another tennis trip to Croatia from 8-11th May 2015. We had players from Pensford tennis club and The Pavilion from East Molesey.
The trip itinerary was more or less the same as on the previous trips, combining tennis on red clay in two different clubs with visiting several coastal and inland hilltop towns as well as trying out the local cuisine, wine and beer. We were so lucky with the weather. It was just great, clear skies and 25degrees.

Back in October 2014, we have organised another tennis trip to Croatia for Pensford, Richmond, Pavillion and other tennis clubs members.

Plan for the future is to organise tennis trips every spring and in autumn. Next trip is planned for 8-11th May 2015 and some people are already looking into going on 2-5/10 or 9-12/10.

We don't have many spaces left for the May trip so if you would like to come along or you know someone who could be interested then please let me know asap. We have already booked our flights.

Dear all,

We have organised another tennis trip to Croatia from 3-6th Oct 2014. In total there were 14 players, the biggest group to have gone so far. We had players from Pensford, Richmond, Surbiton, Thames Ditton, Chiswick as well as Hampton Court. The trip itinerary was more or less the same as on the previous trips, combining tennis on red clay in two different clubs with visiting several coastal and inland hilltop towns as well as trying out the local cuisine and wines.

There was one major difference. We hired a mini bus with the driver instead of getting a car hire. What a difference, don’t think we will be hiring cars again. We had loads of fun and no one had to think about getting to/from the airport, or who was drinking!

The weather was lovely and warm. We ate lots of truffle based dishes and visited a Truffle festival that was taking place nearby.
