Executive Summary:
Mike Morrison and Tony Rispoli are blending two past times they enjoy… Motorcycles and Local Food and Drink. After riding their motorcycles 73 miles and completely hungry with a big thirst for beer, they stopped in a Local Cleveland sports bar chain. Like all “corporate” restaurants the menu was the usual found in any chain sports bar offering very generic food. The dining expe
rience left them wondering… why do people eat at chains when there are Townie Restaurant and Bars where the owner actually works there. They want to let followers know chain restaurants are not the answer to a fun dining experience. Townie Restaurants and Bars are the answer. What are we going to do:
Promote Townie Restaurants and Bars. We are not going to review the establishments. Reviewing is an individual’s opinion on tastes, experience and expectations. Social media is loaded with the reviewing concept. We are going to ride until hungry and randomly find a local restaurant and bar. We are interested in the holistic experience of the established. The concept, the staff, the layout, the patrons, the food. We will promote and feature the positive aspects of the restaurant/ bar devoid of any influences from the owner or present or past patrons. We want our followers to know the Townie Restaurant /Bar simply exists. How are we going to do this:
Mike and Tony will ride our motorcycles to neighborhoods, small towns and out of the way places to eat and drink. No agenda, no prior contacting the owner, no free meals. We will walk in like any other patron and enjoy the restaurant/bar. We will not have an item check list for consistency in comparing restaurant/bars. Our opinion is not going to be expressed to our followers. We will provide the positive parts of the experience in written format with pictures to post to our social media site. We will promote to our followers townie restaurants and bars they never even thought of stopping in but now will try. Definition of a Townie Restaurant and Bar:
Single location, non franchised, locally owned Restaurant and/or Bar. Geographic location is only limited to where we ride. The Motorcycles:
2006 Triumph America – 900cc of comfort and sophisticated cool parked outside a Townie Bar
2008 Harley Davidson Dark Custom Nightster – 1200cc of black and chrome design to Townie Bar hop at a moments notice. The Men:
Mike Morrison: 57 yr old shift supervisor that lives for motors and food. Tony Rispoli : 55 yr old accountant going through his umpteen mid life crisis. Both are on the verge of being unstable and really don’t give a s**t. Why do this:
We believe individuality is the essence of developing good products and service. Chain and franchise restaurants develop a formula and process resulting in best practices that are profitable. We are not saying this is bad. We are saying a from restaurant consumers view, these corporate restaurants produce scripted servers and generic food. We want to spend our money at places that provide locally what people want and are not 100% concerned about plate costs. Their concerned about providing their dream to customers. What do we get out of all this:
Nothing. We want to provide free positive advertising for Townie Restaurant and Bars and steer followers away from the chain and franchise restaurants/bars. Heck, we are riding our bikes and stopping to eat anyway – we may as well help out the owners that feed us and keep us hydrated.
