Vacation Departures Travel Central Ohio Travel Agency specializing in custom cruise and tour vacation packages. We welcome cru Welcome to Vacation Departures. What can I do for you?

I don't have a fancy web site (which you would have to pay for), nor a fancy email (which you would have to pay for), but I do have a "no frills" email by which you can contact me. I prefer to use that same sense of mindfulness with your budget. I recently handed out my business card and was asked, “Why shop with a travel agent?”

Many people know how to book themselves a domestic airline ticket

and hotel, they pick up the phone or go online find an internet offering and charge it to their card. But- what if you wanted more out of your money, what if you could access someone who was trained to show you the value of that money? I am a “human” travel agent. I’m not a website, I am a tangible asset. A living breathing part of your community, not in a cubicle in some warehouse off of some interstate in the middle of the country- working toward numbers-not lasting relationships. I’m in your neighborhood, your church, your scout troop, your book of memories from our time together in the past. I speak to and with my clients, I feel their pain and I share their joy. I’m a certified specialist in several countries (Switzerland, Germany, Japan, Aruba, Costa Rica, Panama, Australia), and several cruise lines (Princess, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America, Cunard, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, Norwegian and Disney), I’ve been certified as a Disney Certified Agent, also a specialist with tour agencies such as Globus, Tauck, Cosmos, Monograms, Travel Impressions, Collette, Abercrombie & Kent, Big 5 Tours, Avanti Destinations, to name a few. In the past 4 years I’ve traveled to Switzerland, Spain, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Russia, Mexico, Grand Cayman, Turks & Caicos, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Canada, Austria, Germany, US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, St Maarten, St Kitts, Jamaica, Belize, Honduras, France, Croatia, Portugal, Malta, Turkey, Greece and Italy. I am a certified Rail Europe Expert. I’ve lived in seven of the United States, traveled to all 50 and lived abroad in Japan for almost 8 years and on Guam for two years. That knowledge all sets me apart from someone on the internet. I've done things others only dream about. I have scaled Mt Fuji and walked the coastlines of Guam, stood and gazed at four countries from at the Top of Europe, experienced Eiger- the mountain, not the movie. I not only wear the clothing, but I’ve been to the North Face, gone swimming with stingrays off the coast of George Town and stayed in a palace in Spain, I’ve traveled through Europe on a rail pass and experienced the world renowned Glacier Express through The Alps. I've been to St Moritz and Monaco, but unlike travelers, I see and experience seven or eight properties in one visit. I know the best room numbers in hotels around the world. I know where a concierge can excel and make my clients stay the trip of a lifetime. I’m not sure many folks are as happy with their work as I am with mine. When I fill out forms for insurance companies, banks or the government, few who read the occupation "travel agent" know what it really means. My clients seek me out for advice and information. I offer them the best moments of their lives, those special weeks they have worked so hard to enjoy. After 49 weeks of working, they come to me for the times they have been dreaming about. I plan the days that really matter in their lives. I design lifetime experiences for them to enjoy. I pay particular attention to clients who have retired. They have worked a lifetime to finally live their dreams. I make those dreams happen, and as I help them -I never forget they are on a fixed income. I also do the same for those who’ve served in the military, those military “savings” prices are non-commissionable, but I look beyond my bottom line to sell them the benefits they’ve earned. I, too, am a veteran. I work out of my home, I’m at work in a mall, I work in a business centers while on vacation of my own. Wherever I work, I am in touch with the world. I once read an article that explained it like this:
“I am a merchant of travel, but I am also a purveyor of dreams. I work on the best moments of people's lives. I keep track of the lives of others. They depend on me, and I exceed their expectations. I have a shop, and it is stocked with the entire planet. Clients can ask me anything about anywhere. No other occupation carries with it the responsibility to know the whole world. I read constantly, and when I am not studying brochures, reading travel magazines or watching the Travel Channel, I am thinking and worrying about my clients, who may at that very moment be anywhere in the world. People depend on me, and I’m able to turn on a dime from aggressive advocacy on behalf of my clients to compassion and empathy. My clients have my home phone number, my cell number, and my address. I’m available for them when I am needed. I am a shopkeeper, I sell the world. “

Now you know a little more about me. I look forward to getting to know you, and becoming that “go-to” person when you’re ready to travel the world. The best compliment I could ever receive would be a referral. Please don’t hesitate to refer me to your family and friends. With kindest regards,

Kimberly Cox
